St ives is a beautiful place... fact!! The most perfect, idyllic, peaceful, enchanting way to finish the day is to sit on Porthmeor Beach and watch the sunset. It is beautiful beyond words as the sun clears the headland and sinks slowly into the beautiful North Atlantic ocean.

Parked here whiile visiting St. Ives and the same as Porthminster beach it was lovely to see a super clean beach which at this time of year is dog friendly. Again lovely views and looked so lovely with the waves crashing around the rocks.

A short walk from the bustle of St. Ives this beach offers a wide open sandy beach ideal for family fun. The local surf school is based here and the safe bathing areas are clearly designated.

In St Ives, this is the best beach if you want waves. Whilst most beaches in St Ives can be like a pond on calm days, this beach still gives the waves, hence the presence of the good hire shop on the beach. Grab a wet suit, body board (or surf lessons if brave) and hit the waves for a... More

Long stretch of beautiful beach with white sands and turquoise seas. Even in the wet rainy day we went it still looked stunning and was empty. The time of year meant our dogs were allowed on the beach and had a good run, I can imagine it gets very busy here in the summer

Always busy, with varied range of drinks and food, ranging from salads and baguettes to most things with chips! Prices reasonable for St. Ives. If it gets a bit too crowded for you, try its sister establishment at West Beach, a five-minute walk away across the beach. Not such a sun-trap, but still has great views.
