We saw these walking tours advertised at the Guildhall, so turned up at around 10.45 and joined a group of about 10 people. Our guide, Dawn, was enthusiastic and knowledgable, and although we have visited St Ives many times, we still learned lots of things that we hadn't known before. Our tour lasted almost 2 hours so at £5 it... More

We arrived at approx 2 minutes to 11am as got a little lost finding the starting point. We asked inside the tourist information if we were to buy tickets before and the polite lady kindly showed us where to start the tour. She pointed to the ever so rude tour guide who had clearly started his talk. We politely waited,... More

We can warmly recommend Tony's walks. He is generous with his local knowledge. In the 3-hour walking route he told us historical facts and stories of mining - and the St Ives life in general, also in the modern day. (In muddy / rainy weather bring hiking boots or wellies). Fascinating and time well spent!

A brilliant introduction to the arts in St Ives. Our knowledgeable guide Dawn Bright promised to keep steep hills to a minimum and the pace of her 1 ½ hour walking tour was also suitable for slower walkers. Dawn’s enthusiasm was infectious – she took us down small alleyways (alerting us to how the buildings “framed” different views), pointed out... More

My mother and I went on a "Story of St. Ives" tour on a Wednesday with Dawn, who is lovely and a superb guide. She gave us a very good overview of the town and its history covering all the important things - fishing, mining, art, smuggling - as well as some really interesting details that we wouldn't have noticed... I went on a walk on a Tuesday from the front of the Guild Hall with Tony Farrell - not to be confused with other walks by other people from the same place at the same time (but not the same day), although I understand he also does a walk on a Friday. It was extremely interesting and particularly because... More

We went on a walking tour with local and very knowledgeable historian, Tony Farrell. This is well worth it, with background information on local history, including the lives of hard working fishermen who often risked their lives for their trade. Quite insiteful and remarkable.A must when visiting St Ives.

This is a must do, rain or shine. Interesting and informative, whilst also taking a gentle stroll through a beautiful old town with fantastic beaches.
