We were staying at a holiday cottage not far from the island, so walked regularly to the summit and looked out at the sea. It gets windy, especially in March, but the view is amazing in all directions, you can see both beaches and the...More

Lovely area with far reaching views. However accessing it is problematic because there is totally inadequate car parking. Some visitors leave their cars for the week. There is no long stay parking provided in St Ives and this needs addrsssing, The parking is a nightmare.

It was great to see it on foot, it took a good 30 minutes and then going out by boat and seeing it from that side as well, Stunning

This instantly recognisable part of St Ives is worth the short walk up the hill to get an idea of a time now passed. The chapel is usually locked but a peak inside the windows reveals a simple but beautifully rustic place of contemplation and...More

When staying in St Ives we always walk along the coast and around the Island from where there are great views in all directions. If the centre of town gets crowded then it usually seems quieter up here, though can be pretty breezy at times,...More

We visited here nearly every evening to watch the Sun go down and on one occassion saw a pod of Dolphins, this site is located at the rear of the Island Car Park and you can go on a nice walk around the rugged coastline...More

It can get quite blustery on the island, but the views make it all worthwhile on a clear day. This is the place we’re seals and occasionally dolphins can seen from, but not on our visit. It’s also a popular location for picnics and to...More

Great for stretching your legs and escaping the thouristy hustle and bustle in the town centre. Even better of there is a decent wind blowing as the views from the top looking out over the Atlantic ocean or towards Gwithian beach, with the salt in...More

The ‘island’ is located between the harbour and porthmeor beach on a small headland. There is a path round the coast or ones to the top. It seems very popular to walk up there on an evening but unfortunately we had to stick to the...More

When in the area we always walk up the hill to visit this small Church in the hope that one day it will be open but it never is. Presumably the population of the town cannot be trusted to look after the building unlike many...More

There is a wide tarmac path with regular benches leading up from the car park, it's not too steep that side either so it should be okay for trundler or wheelchair access.
