Great to visit even in winter. A good beach which would be fantastic in the summer-very popular with tourists and would be extremely busy in summer

I once walked past, watching a bride and groom enjoying their wedding reception on the beautiful white sand and dining from the excellent cafe adjoining Porthgwidden. I don't believe there could have ever been a better place to celebrate. This little cove has beautiful sand,...More

Out of season Porthgwidden is a delight, the sands are clean & unspoilt, not so many people visit & it's lovely to wander across the front of the colourful beach huts, lost in thought, with the waves crashing & stunning viws out to see. A...More

There are beaches with less stone, more heat, clearer water and the setting sun. There are beaches with michelin starred cafes, harbouring super yachts, exotic coral and exciting times. Porthgwidden Beach is my favourite beach in the world. There are rocks to pick mussels and...More

Small beach with beach-huts and cafe-bar regular Seal sightings in the surf. Cafe menu excellent and available for functions and weddings. Nice easy walk from St. Ives and circular route back through the old parts of St. Ives through rambling rows of fishermen's cottages.

Great for children quite sheltered and flat though reasonable ridge today - North West wind! Better when south westerly. Our boys love it - aged 6 and 3. Nice cafe too.

On our visit there was a "no dogs allowed" sign at the entrance to the beach.there is however a dog friendly beach a five minute walk away.
