Great way to arrive in St Ives

SCENIC way to arrive in St Ives, and not expensive either. we used the park and ride at Lelant. Lovely views and the trains stop right above a beach. It was busy however (October... read more

Train service to st Ives. Works better than trying to find parking. Was £4 return pp. Downside only every half an hour

SCENIC way to arrive in St Ives, and not expensive either. we used the park and ride at Lelant. Lovely views and the trains stop right above a beach. It was busy however (October half term) and the return journey was very busy with the staff stopping anymore people getting on a crowded platform. Some had to wait for the... More

Just a short ride but really spectacular views out to sea and also, as a golfer, West Cornwall Golf Club. Our boys aged 6 and 3 love it. Dog friendly too.

Such a nice park and ride! Made a change from a bus ride. The scenery of the beaches and bays was amazing. Such a great trip to St Ives. Well worth using rather than trying to find a parking space. Definitely the nicest way to travel to St Ives.

Have always wanted to do this train trip and today was the day. Parked in the car park at St Erth which was larger than I had believed. The car park has approximately fifty parking bays including two Disabled Bays. The station is a warp back in time. The olde worlde Ticket Office of yesteryear is fantastic. The station staff... Short and sweet with absolutely stunning views. Only a couple of stops to St Erth where you can pick up a mainline train to Penzance or Truro. Well worth the time spent even. You only have a cream tea at the quaint station cafe at St Erth and come back on the next train

Wanted to visit St. Ives but told parking there a nightmare so we went to the park and ride at Lelant Saltings to take the St. Ives Bay line. Thought we had got lost to start with as you have to drive through a small housing estate. The parking charges were a cheap £2.80. From there it was £4 return... More

Having many years ago driven into St Ives to eat on the first night of holiday, we soon learned our mistake! The train is so much handier if you're staying at a place along the train line - and very cheap. During the day it's always nice to walk along the coastal path to St Ives when there's time, but... As we traveled down to the area overnight and arrived too early to check into our accommodation, we used the train park and ride on our first day in St. Ives before returning to our holiday park. An excellent start to the week with great views of the bay and an early glimpse in the distance of where we were... More
