Located below Tintagel Castle, the birthplace of King Arthur, this cave is believed to be where Merlin lived. The caves are accessible from a footpath, but fill with water at high tide.

Visited as part of Tintagel castle. Very mystical and magical, you can walk through the cave, climbing over a few rocks. There are some steep steps and rocks to climb over to get down to the cave but don't let this put you off.

We arrived on a rainy day and were frustrated at the cost of the Castle as it’s £10+ per person, we decided to head to the beach and check out the caves. It was very busy due to the summer holidays but that didn’t stop...More

We were in luck when we visited Tintagel Castle as the tide was out which meant we could get down onto the beach and explore the cave and give our dog a paddle before we went up to explore the castle. It does get incredibly...More

It's a cave and it is best to see it from the castle. You can zoom in for photography; I wouldn't recommend trying to get to it on foot. Hardly a place to deserve a listing really.

Interesting experience. Make sure you go when the tide is out otherwise you can't access the beach and the cave. Find Merlin's face carved in the stone on the left side of the cave.
