I can fully understand the glowing reviews from people who have been on courses here, or from people who are enthusiastic about arts and crafts. Perhaps even simple shoppers who gave a particular passion for silk will ring its praises. As someone who popped in as part of a general trip to the village however, all I can add is... More

I was lucky enough to be given some money for my birthday and thought I would treat myself to something different. So I contacted Ann by email and asked if I could come on a course to learn about it. We arranged it all and I duly turned up, thinking there would be others there but I was the only... More

Highlight of the trip to Clovelly for me, made all the more special as I had no idea it was there. Absolute gem if you're into textile decoration or the least bit interested in the process of making silk scarves. Excellent range for sale including adorable hand knitted jumpers. What a pity they were only for little people. Got chatting... More

How kind of you to take the time to write this lovely review. We're so pleased you enjoyed the shop and our chat. Weren't the bluebells and other Spring flowers at Hartland Abbey perfect. We hope you get the chance to enjoy another visit sometime in the near future. :) Thank you very much indeed. More

I visited Clovelly 2 days ago and whilst there came across the silk shop. The lady running it is very knowledgeable and took the time to tell me about the different silks as I was buying a Christmas present for my MIL. Ended up purchasing just 1 beautiful hand painted silk scarf, but now kicking myself I didn't buy more!... More

Just off the path from the visitors centre and Clovelly village this is an oasis of interesting silk products. There are items available for purchase with well made silk ties £6 each or 2 for £12. The display of silk cocoons really interested the children looking around.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Clovelly Silk shop and we're delighted that you were inspired by our silks. Children find it fascinating to know where silk comes from and we are pleased that yours enjoyed seeing the (Bombyx mori) silk worms. We keep them throughout the summer and feed them on leaves picked from Mulberry trees... More

Stumbled upon this lovely little place whilst visiting the Clovelly village on a weekend break in Bideford. We were introduced to Bill who is a fountain of knowledge! We chatted for quite a while and Bill was even kind enough to give me an offcut of fabric as I'm a Textiles university student! I purchased one of his wife, Annes,... More

I took my friend recently to make a Devore scarf at Clovelly Silk as a surprise birthday present. We arrived with no real design ideas and I was amazed at how detailed and precise an image you can create. We were quickly inspired by pictures of other designs and set to work creating our own. Ann and Bill were fantastic... More

We went in to the silk shop at the end of our walk up and down the village. It really is worth going to and the owner was so lovely and we really enjoyed chatting to him. Well worth popping in to this lovely little shop.
