This location is just stunning. Despite not being able to access the house owing to Covid restrictions however this didn’t affect our visit at all. The views, the beautiful gardens and the stunning landscape make for an absolutely wonderful visit. From arrival to leaving this was a brilliant day and thoroughly enjoyed. Hands down the best ever national trust property we have visited. Thanks so much!

Fabulous gardens and stunning sea views, wear sensible footwear it is quite steep in places. We were lucky to see the ground floor of the house, it was gorgeous and some excellent, well informed NT volunteers present. It really made you feel in the 1930s/1940s. We hope to return as the rain cut short our walk through the delightful gardens which are part of the RHS network. ATM you need to book online, weekends only.

A lot of variety in plant types in the garden. The steep slopes have clear avoidance paths using steps instead on the map. A number of benches are dotted around to sit and admire the view. We visited on a day with 55mph winds and it was worth being blown about!

What an absolute delight! In a very sheltered valley growing a huge variety of plants, many of which were still flowering at the end of Oct! Plenty of scope to walk along the cliff path to extend your walk. The cliff views were quite magical. The house was closed and we were told that too is very special to look around. I would highly recommend a visit - we will definitely come again.

Interesting pathways through lovely landscaped gardens. The view of the sea from the top path is stunning. Would love to visit again when the house re-opens. Fabulous coastal walk up from Kingswear.
