Blackpool sands are a beautiful location and sandy beach, blue sea and a beach cafe and toilets. Parking available. We were lucky to see the Humpback whale and calf swimming very close to the shore from the beach. Also there is a wonderful Chanel View Guest House TQ6 0PH, just up the hill, that is pet friendly so makes your... More

A nice beach in a nice location. Very windy and cold but sunny on the day. Nice cafe overlooking the sea. Tricky road to get there but that's standard round there. Car park steep. Dog waste bins needed a serious empty out as they were overflowing and could put people right off when the heat picks up. Bring your own... More

This beach is a must see, if you are near Dartmouth. It is a beautiful sandy beach surrounded by green countryside. Dogs are not able to go on the beach during peak times, (I am not sure if they are allowed at all), which leaves this beach wonderfully unspoilt. There is a great shop and café so you can spend... Like all of this part of the South Hams, Blackpool Sands is steeped in history from the owners whose ancestors made the money to buy it as 'Privateers' for Elizabeth 1st to the D Day landing preparations. these days it's a pleasant shingly beach, car park, shop and waterside cafe. Out of season, free parking and dogs on the beach... More

Parking in motorhome is a bit concerning. Ive got a 30ft motorhome and the car park was very steep. Rd getting there very tight aswell. Beach is lovely though. I'd say only take a car or small motorhome

Blackpool Sands is a lovely beach in a beautiful location with a very good Cafe and shop, parking and toilets. It isn't sandy, more shingle than sand and can be a bit difficult to walk on as it's soft, but it's a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

Staying in Dartmouth we drove here for a few hours on a Sunday morning to walk the dogs and get some fresh air Thankfully the drizzle had stopped and weather was warm ish The dogs enjoyed being able to run up and down the beach and even went into the sea for a swim Nice competitively priced cafe that we...
