About
The Garden covers 43 acres and includes two valleys at right angles. One includes the River Black,a lake and ponds,the other a stream and ponds. The hillsides have wide contoured grass paths at all levels. The Garden is extensively planted with rhododendrons,camellias,magnolias and endless trees and shrubs. Daffodils and bluebells flower in their thousands. The nursery has a wide range at modest prices.

This is a magical place. Perfect peace. Stunning landscape and such a huge range of trees and shrubs and exotic plants. Above all it is a place to find yourself, to lift the spirits and feel fortunate.

This is a fabulous gardens. Admittedly November not a great time to visit any gardens but there outstanding views and lovely winding paths. Lovely autumn colours. The view of the lake is reminiscent of Monet’s garden. Really friendly people. Great selection of plants in the nursery. Only recommendation is stout shoes.

Such friendly and enthusiastic staff, walked with us to the top of the valley and talked through some of the work they've done (planted nearly 100 camellias!)
It's not hard to imagine how the place will develope over time and I look forward to seeing it. There's such a good balance between cultivated and natural habitat.
Its a bit hidden away but well worth finding for a trip out.

So very pleased to meet you and so very grateful for such a kind review. The 100 camellias are just in the first part of the valley, there are many 100ds in the whole Gardens. Please look on Facebook for many photos throughout the year.

We found this garden /nursery in one of the local magazines .What a delight , great gardens set in a valley with a large variety of plants/trees, lots of placed to sit in tranquil settings .Owners very friendly and knowledgable.The .The narrow road off the main road is well signposted and there is plenty of parking .Well worth a visit and the nursery has some very unusual and interesting plants at very reasonable prices .

This lovely place took us back to when we just happened upon obscure gardens in Spain - the tranquility of walking in shade and coming across streams and small waterfalls without any other being around was the antidote to stress in addition to an amazing vista across the valley. Children will love to play hide and seek here-be careful you might lose them! Finally a fabulous nursery in which to browse and buy plants at such good prices.

We came here without any expectations. Your arrival in a small wooded car park and the walk up the lane to the entrance gives you no idea what lies beyond. A further short walk reveals a wild and quietly glorious garden. It may, as others have said, a work in progress, but what a work! It proved something of a challenge to steer a pushchair with two young toddlers along some of the grassy slopes, but well-worth the effort. My only regret is not living close enough to enjoy this magnificent garden throughout the seasons. A truly magical place.

Today was our fifth September visit and it has yet to disappoint. What a glorious landscape Fast Rabbit farm is. We were treated to a precious morning of peace, tranquillity, birdsong, inquisitive dragonflies, bees, wonderful trees and, best of all, no human voices. The work which has gone into creating it is astonishing; thank you for sharing it with us. A truly lovely place which has a sort-of rugged feel at this point in the year - just our thing. The nursery is one of my favourites; as always we came away with a haul of little gems which are priced extremely reasonably.

If you like a good walk in picturesque surroundings this is one place to visit good weather is a must lots of different flowers and fauna to see sitting by the small lake is a must in summer so you can watch the dragonflies dart about altogether very very nice walk.

Yes dogs are welcome but on leads please. Many birds are nesting and are likely to abandon their nests if disturbed. We have just lost our resident geese with five abandoned eggs after one visitor allowed his dog to swim the lake and attack the geese.
However you are very welcome and I hope you enjoy your visit

Is it wheelchair accessible?

There are two points of access of access to the Garden,both wheelchair accessible. The lower gives almost level access to the lake and the higher to the gazebo and overview of a different part of the Garden. The paths are all grassed and especially the lower valley can become wet and soft. Some wheelchairs have wide wheels but others narrow and suitable for hard dry surfaces only. It is wise to check in at the garden centre to discuss.

Our camellias start to flower in October then sporadically through winter peaking in March to April.

Dear Chorlton Girl.I am sorry you were both shocked and disappointed. Did you spend any time looking at the garden? I am responsible for posting the four "clothing optional" days on the visitor information page of the website so am surprised you failed to find it. I know the owner of the garden would be delighted to give you a free guided tour on one of the 360 clothing compulsory days to alleviate your disappointment.
