Have to admit I was meeting an old school friend I have not seen for years (decades) so attention to our food was limited. But what a welcoming pub if you have dogs. Cannot be faulted at all. We had good starters (chilli prawns, butternut soup) and we all ordered burgers. Have to say we all said the burgers were... More

We booked Sunday lunch . Unfortunately the table time we had was a rather late time due to pub being very busy . Starter were lovely . Second course was very slow . Hardly any roast meat on plate and I did notice cauliflower cheese on the diners plates earlier . This was not on our plates . When asked... More

We recently visited this pub for the first time Saturday night. We were in a very large party in a separate room. First impressions of the pub were good, staff friendly, clean, tables dotted here and there, the odd sofa as well. But what I liked the most was the fact that you could take your dog into the pub.... We ate here for a birthday meal with 7 diners. The menu was very good, lots of specials and plenty of game dishes. We were particularly impressed with the information provided to one diner who was dairy intolerant. They also had a gluten free menu. There was lots of space and tables and plenty of parking too. They are also... More

This place is a gem! We happened upon it through Brit Stop (a fantastic compendium of places you can stay with your campervan for free as long as you don't abuse it or the hospitality of those that provide you with a place to park and you return the favour by buying their goods or using their services e.g. stay... we booked a table for four (first time going as heard it was good, starter was very tasty but main was mediocre) we had a dog sit and watch us eating and then decided to lick it's parts, not what I want to see while I'm trying to enjoy the food, dog toys were all over the floor which my... More

Having decided to have our Christmas Day meal out, we cannot speak highly enough about the wonderful meal at The Ley Arms. The food was excellent, very well thought out and timed to perfection. The atmosphere was lovely as were the staff. We plan to return next Christmas.

Came here for Christmas dinner for our office Christmas celebration. The set Christmas menu provided a variety of dishes and a choice of either 2 or 3 courses. You could choose whether 2 courses was a starter or a pudding. Our group had a combination of all 3. The layout in spacious but discreetly laid out. They have a pub... More

We visited here with extended family for an early dinner. The pub itself is beautiful. It's big but made up of lots of cosy sections, so it's very atmospheric. There were a few roaring fires going when we visited, really lovely. The food was great. I really enjoyed the fish pie, and the portion was very generous and loaded with... More

We went for a Saturday lunch. I was craving a normal ploughmans lunch, you would think that getting a ploughmans in old world pubs really easy. Well I have tried a few places and it's never on the menu. Same with The Ley Arms, however, the staff made one up for us and I have to say it was fantastic!... More
