We visited on a Tuesday lunchtime based on its great location and were really pleased we did. The staff were welcoming and helpful and pointed out the great selection of local drinks and specials in the food menu. There was a fire glowing in one of the fireplaces and plenty of choice of seating although it quickly filled up. While... More

I went with my daughter and two very young grandchildren. We were made to feel welcome and the atmosphere was relaxed. The staff were friendly and food very tasty - I had a sticky toffee pudding to die for! My daughter has chosen the pub and location for her wedding reception - you can't give a higher recommendation than that.... More

We did a 2 hour Circuit and found this at the end! What a beautiful beautiful location. And what a little gem of a pub. We ordered two baguettes and some. Cheesy chips. Very tasty indeed. Seemed to be good quality produce. I agree with other comments about the decor, our table was very wobbly! And the bathroom was abit... More

We are local and have walked through to Fingle Bridge many times. We had always thought the staff to be friendly and kind. However on New Year's Day we suffered the wrath of a moody, unfriendly waitress. She's in the wrong job. She has ruined all the good experiences we have ever had there and we will never go back.... Only ever visited once before so decided to go for Sunday lunch at the last minute. What a fantastic decision. We had 2adult carverys and 1 child's carvery. The beef and pork where the best I've ever had in a carvery and the vegetables where very fresh. They even made a nut roast and vegetable gravy for my daughter. The... More

Loved our visit here. We met family and friends and were a very large party. It was managed really well with a menu that had something for everyone and majority of it was fresh and home-made. Staff were exceptionally busy as it was the holidays and the pub was full to the rafters! They coped admirably - we'll done you,... More

We visited the pub for lunch after a wonderful walk through the Teign gorge from Chagford. It's a fabulous location with no competition for some distance. And that is evident from the service provided. The cheese baguette was sprinkled with grated cheddar, no chunk of cheese here! The pub was very busy indeed, it needs some competition to raise the... The positives: stunning location, deservedly hugely popular beauty spot, acceptably-priced food. But: limited (microwave-focused?) menu, lacklustre staff bordering on unfriendly, and decor that should be condemned! This place appears to be a gold-mine as it was so busy when when visited. Yet it seems perhaps the lack of immediate competition breeds complacency. The experience could be so much better.

Just visited this pub for lunch after our dog walk up the river! Very popular and busy on the Sunday lunchtime we visited. Sun was shining so we opted for the terrace over looking the river although dogs are allowed in bar area. Carvery was amazing, choice of four meats, vegetables were piping hot, gravy was scrumptious. We also had... More
