Came along last night for a preview. First rate stuff, good buzzy crowd. Great contemporary regional work. The evening still better because the gallery is five minutes walk from the equally enticing Roam Taproom at this end of Weston Park Road. Businesses like this have really brought the Hyde Park, Peverell area of Plymouth back to life.

Consistently high standard of work on display.

The exhibitions run all year round without a break, usually two or three artists at one time but two or three times a year there are seasonal events eg watercolours or a particular group of painters. Always lots of undreamed work available. Currently all exhibitions in the foyers of the Theatre Royal are hung and curated by Artmill. Excellent framing service too.

We found the Framing Centre by checking on Trip Advisor, so glad we did. We'd taken in some pictures to be framed, without much of an idea exactly what frames and mounts would look good on most of them. The lady who served us was so helpful, no rush, never pushing, just a brilliant eye for what would look good. In between times I was gazing around at some of the art in the gallery. I didn't have much time to do this, but will make time when we collect our pictures. It's the kind of place where no one seems to mind if you just browse - and there's a little pot I've got my eye on! By the way, I noticed that the postcode given with the address wasn't correct, so I've changed it. I'm not sure if I did this properly so just in case: the correct postcode is: PL3 4JN.

Excellent medium sized gallery with west country contemporary artists.

Like the friendly knowledgeable unpretentious feel of this place. Seems to be going from strength to strength with a second gallery shop in Dartmouth called Artmill2. Can't quite understand why the Tripadvisor Plymouth listing calls it the Framing centre because although it does a substantial commercial and retail framing trade the big attraction is the quality and range of the pictures and sculptures.

It could do with some more photographs on here and the management ought to correct the name.

Excellent free Joseph Hillier sculpture exhibition.

This friendly welcoming innovative gallery has a constant series of interesting exhibitions of mostly regional artists as well as a busy framing service. I called in today and stumbled upon the exciting and stimulating display of dozens of works, large and small by the nationally renown artist, academic and digital designer Joseph Hillier. All the works here are metal. He describes his work as aiming to re-interpret the human form by rendering it in new processes and forming it through complex geometric operations. I like what he does. Some forms are more solid but many seem to produce shapes by lattice or repetition. There was one big human shape made of discs and another equally effective made of what looked from a distance to be Maltesers but closer seemed to be like rusty pistol balls. This is a good small gallery on two floors with a useful garden/yard at the back. Hillier runs for a few more weeks.

Have made a point of looking in here on spec every three or four months having been recommended on a fiddly but precious framing job, liked what we incidentally saw on the walls and downstairs. Came back later to buy and have bought a couple of lovely pictures and some ceramics since. Like the spread of quality local contemporary artists. The staff, ? Mother and daughter ? are very helpful and unpushy. I like the place. Parking is free and there is generally a space or two free on that side of the road.

Excellent framing / contemporary west country artists.

Fool proof framing service, skillfully and quickly done. Big choice of framing in stock. Usually something in one of the rolling exhibitions that is tempting too. Unpretentious but useful advice with no hard sell or creepy arty argot.

Had some stuff framed for Christmas. Wide range of value frames. Jobs well executed. Also liked some of the pictures on display and bought one. Helpful friendly unpretentious staff. Pleasant feel. Obviously busy.

Not a bad place. Welcoming and helpful. Sufficiently relaxed for you not to worry about a slow wander viewing the stock. Always a new and large selection of pictures on the walls, various bits of sculpture ceramic and jewelry. Sculpture garden outside at the back. Reasonable value and quick turn around on framing with large stock of mouldings. Parking can be a pain in busy street but, if you find a space, kill two birds with one stone, because the city's best butcher Voisins, is just a couple of doors along.
