Came in last week to see what I might find amongst this huge and eclectic mass of books, only to find that the owner sought me out to explain that, as a result of retirement plans and in the absence of anyone seeking to take over the business, he was running down the stock, partly by selling on a two... Best by a country mile. Not neat and perfectly categorised and ordered. Not every volume or even half the stock is readily accessible without moving dozens of others but it's a great selection and there are many wide and narrow topics that are very well represented in quality. I find it impossible to spend less than an hour browsing but... More

I found this by chance today and what a fantastic gem of a bookshop it is - piles and piles of second hand books & a superb array and selection on offer. The owner is a really friendly helpful guy who clearly knows his stuff and is passionate about helping you find the right book without being "in your face".... More

Lovely friendly approachable owner wears his hair long and straggly. but runs a first rate little space in a mixed use old warehouse. Books piled high and many thousands to chose from. Fantastic way to spend an hour or so.

Vast quantities of books. I come in a couple of times a year or if sheltering from the rain. Almost always come away with three or four unusual books, out of print or not readily available elsewhere. Friendly guy runs the place. Wry smile but looks like a bit of a hermit.

Only discovered this place week. Had seen the Tripadvisor entry but hadn't really worked out where it was or that it could be quite so seductive or extensive. This is not a dusty old shop in a small market town but rather half the ground floor of an old Barbican warehouse with a huge number of good condition mostly hardbacks... More

Recently moved to Plymouth and was delighted to find this place. The store has an extensive assortment of paperbacks and hardbacks - it seems reasonably well organised and the owner was helpful in locating some things I was after. I managed to pick up some literary classics and historical books for good prices. It's a bit of a squeeze between... More

Come in here several times a year when in Plymouth. He has a very large number of second hand books covering a vast range of subjects. Evidently very good at buying in personal collections on specialist topics such as politics. Although better arranged than before it can still be a squeeze through the huge stacks of books. Often find things... More

Always liked this place but it used to be worse than difficult to browse or find the right categories. Came in this week and discovered that a very great deal of sorting has taken place, possibly because there is marginally less space since the glass dividing wall has been put up and there seems to be a bigger stock. This... More
