About
Mayflower Marina is a 400 berth fully serviced marina located within the historic naval city of Plymouth and overlooking the picturesque Mt Edgcumbe Country Park. We are proud of our marina. Our berth holders often talk about being part of 'the Mayflower family' and we work hard to live up to our reputation as being a particularly friendly marina. The marina holds The Yacht Harbour Association's prestigious 5 Gold Anchor Award and in both 2014 & 2015 Mayflower Marina was voted British Coastal Marina of the Year. In recent years we have made significant investments in our facilities and we think you'll be impressed by what we have to offer! Please get in touch if you have any questions or, better still come and visit us - we'd be delighted to show you around!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best marina on the south coast of UK. Sailed from the Baltic through the channel to Ireland and stopped here. Absolutely great facilities around including restaurant and chandlery. Washroom facilities best we've seen so far on our many countries and marina visits. Not to mention berth price in the UK which is somewhat high.

Excellently situated for sailing at all states of the tide and with easy access from sea and sure. Away from the rowdy areas of Sutton Harbour and QAB. A stiff walk into the city centre or round to nearby Royal William but the opening of Jolly Jacks bistro restaurant and bar offers onsite hospitality. Close to all necessary services and repairs.

We liked this marina for its reasonable price, good location, adequate facilities and friendly staff. We stayed here for six weeks while we modified our yacht for ocean cruising. If you need work done there are rigging, grp, electrical, sail and canvas suppliers close at hand (along Richmond Walk). The town centre is a short bus ride (£1.70 return) from the end of Richmond Walk. You can also find a lot of specialised marine companies and suppliers near the other marinas at the East end of town ( for example Queen Anne's Batterie). Walking into town takes 25 minutes although there is a Lidle and Aldi within 15 minutes walk.
Jolly Jack restaurant is located at the marina buildings. Good meals and coffee in clean surroundings. A small chandler has just opened right beside the restaurant.
The only complaint we had was the swell experienced due to the open situation of the marina to the West, and some swell caused by the ferries that connect with Edgcumbe. However access is very easy but be careful with tidal stream at certain times.

A quick stopover to top up with water etc before heading to our swinging mooring cost £14 for 4 hours! The same at QAB around the corner was £8! Poorly marked finger berths if you are not familiar with the Marina. We like jolly jacks which is the only reason we use the marina.

We stayed at the Mayflower twice this summer, they went out of their way to accommodate us, handed our ropes, really nice restaurant and bar on site the manager even gave us a lift to and from the local casualty department after my wife had injured herself (elsewhere) great showers, nice atmosphere. Top notch genuinely friendly marina. Full marks.

Such a lovely friendly marina. The heated floors in the shower areas are great and really good hot showers. We had a problem with our halyard and Charles very kindly went up the mast for us to sort it out! A great personal touch and very helpful. Useful chandlers too, And don't miss Jolly Jack's for breakfast and papers.

Even in the cool rain, seeing Plymouth, England, was important for us as Americans. We found a great fish and chip place nearby and walked along the marina and the Mayflower Steps. (Nov. 2017)

After a day battling in 35mph easterly wind I arrived at the marina. A member of staff was waiting to take a line. Excellent service. The showers are like being at home. Heated rooms, spotlessly clean. A real credit to the marina. Stunning surroundings with the old naval yard buildings too.

The restaurant was brilliant, however the management and professionalism of the actual marina is less than satisfactory. They're interested in money, nothing else.

Pretty close to being a 5* marina.
The bathrooms are very good and clean, but could do with something to dry your hands with after using the loo. Using the hairdryer for your hands is a bit of faff.
Because of the good bathrooms nothing untoward is seen bobbing about the marina.
It’s surprisingly quiet with almost no mast rigging noise.
Although there is no security gate to get onto the pontoons, it still felt very safe and secure.

Thank you for visiting our marina and for taking the time to post a review.
In response to your point about hand drying; we do have a super efficient electric hand dryer in the foyer of our bathroom block but granted there is not one in the cubicles.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope that you will visit us again.
