Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Having motored down for a 4 day fishing holiday from Southampton, we unexpectedly where unable to sail home.

We called all the other marinas in Plymouth to try to arrange a weeks berthing until we could get back and sail the boat home and got responses from “no we fully booked’ to ‘I can call you back later’.

No such fobbing off at Sutton Harbour!

The kind lady on reception is a credit to the company, not only spending a good deal of time to find us a berth, but also taking the time to show us the berth and sending a team member to take a line when we came alongside.

Sutton Harbour thank you very much for the excellent customer service and help in a semi-crisis!

Excellent cost effective, safe and secure berthing for small boats and jetskis. No idea what the prices are like for larger craft, but they are reasonable for smaller craft. With it being sheltered, larger craft don't have to worry about damage during storms that can occur in other marinas.

There is a choice of simple berthing with no car parking or facilities, or the full works with nice toilets, parking, laundry etc. A package to suit your budget.

The location is stunning, right in the centre of Plymouth by the Barbican.

I'm just starting my second year of berthing with them. The marina is lovely, the staff are great. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Overnight in the marina very pleasant and nearby facilities good. Easy walk to Plymouth Hoe and other historic sites. The marina fees were the most I have ever paid, so you may want to check in advance and even the wifi is extra.

Thank you for your review and we are glad that you had a good stay but note your comments re the cost. This year we have introduced seasonally adjusted visitor fees. Our standard fee for a vessel less than 13.5m in length is £3.75/m per night, this is increased during the peak season of July and August and will revert back to our standard fee from 1st September and reduce further to £2.75/m per night from 1st November for the winter season. We also have an alternative facility in Plymouth which you may wish to consider at King Point Marina in Millbay. Here berthing fees amount to £3.25/metre per night. More information about this facility can be found on www.kingpointmarina.co.uk

Too expensive. Kept awake late by a party on a motor yacht - unable to get hold of anyone in the marina office to resolve. Nice showers and location but will not return.

These guys think that they offwer 5 star service!! I have been more impressed by less expensive and more friendly marinas down west!!

The most expensive marina we have stayed in for years - location had drunk people jumping into the marina but most incredibly no WIFI available unless you went to the office!! Unbelievable at £50 a night -will never visit again.

Stayed at Sutton Marina, but it is expensive, the facilities are clean but looking old and tired. Lock Keeper and Berthing Staff were great, but reception and manager need lessons in customer service, I felt I was interrupting something!

Very expensive for what you get, moved across to Plymouth Yacht Haven - they were great!

I have visited this marina on several occasions this year with friends on their boats, and until the last few visits it has always been a pleasure. I am not sure why, but it is not like it used to be, the happy atmosphere has changed.

The management of the Marina did not seem good as I can remember from previous visits. Overall it doesn't seem as cared-for as it was, and I wonder if it will retain its 5 Gold Anchors.

Let's hope it will improve.

Sutton Marina contains a fair few Yachts & Boats of differing styles which in General can mean only one thing........Money Money Money. Close to the Barbican with its many Bars, Restaurants and Gift Shops as well as History. So if you have one of these fine vessels and are looking for a mooring with plenty of Facilities then this could be the answer.

I sail into around 30 marinas each year from Harwich to Falmouth and revisit them on my return to home port Ipswich. I have been doing this each year for 35 years. Value for money and marina facilities are important to me, I avoid poor marinas. Also I visit deep water pontoons in about 6 of our beautiful rivers. In my opinion Sutton Harbour Marina offers excellent value for money especially if you choose to pay for 5 days you get two more days free. I have never made a review before and I have no connection with this business except I'm enjoying its service and facilities.
Fair weather everyone.
