All the business and retail accommodation associated with Residence One in RWY has closed, largely following the failure of the restaurant. The sweet shop was in onemof the ancillary outbuildings. All is closed. I have not heard of the sweet shop continuing or resurrecting anywhere...More

We came in looking for a binge pre Christmas session in the sweet shop only to find that this year at least it has only opened from March till September. I wish there had been a bigger sign outside (we did later discover the detail...More

A good sweet shop is a joy to behold and visit. This place is a damp squib. You do not have to go far to find how it should be done. Mr Simms Sweet Shop in Exeter is a good example of a national friendly...More

A simple predictable sweet shop like this is not that much fun. At this time of year in Plymouth there are other choices. The regular Italian tented stalls in Armada Way have some delightful sweets in amongst the trays of pastries and the rest. I...More

A nice effort and some children will enjoy a few minutes in here but we were disappointed by the lack of surprises or anything tantalising or different. There is nothing here you can't easily find elsewhere.

I understand the earlier reviews. This little sweet shop has no wow factor and is not up there with mesmerising confectioners but it is the only unit in Royal William that can hold any attraction to children of all ages. We came in especially and...More

I suppose I half expected something seductive and different, maybe even home made or in from somewhere special, instead pretty well all there was were serried rows of mundane plastic bottles of sweets and candies. Nothing remotely out of the ordinary. All credit to anyone...More

Not much used these days but 'emporium' means a store which sells a wide variety of goods. Sadly this little room only sells pretty unremarkable sweets and mostly the ones that come in those big jars. Big disappointment when we came in.

We came in here this afternoon after lunch at the bar of the French style place across the Green. You come I through the wagon/carriage gate into the walled garden and on the right there are a pair of small terraced cottages or outbuildings. The...More
