Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did the Daily 1hr Scenic Harbour Cruise and it was wonderful; got to see Plymouth and the naval sites from a different perspective than by foot or vehicle. Well priced at £11 pp and there are toilets and a small cafe/ shop onboard. The staff are friendly and the pre-recorded commentary was interesting. The views were great, a fantastic value-for-money activity. Having seen the brochure, would love to come back and do some of the other exciting trips.

Lived many years in Plymouth but had never been on the dockyard and warships cruise
Back in the city with my partner on a short stay and booked online.
Excellent trip with informative commentary throughout.
Highly recommended

We boarded this cruise at the Plymouth docks. We went past the old English Navy Yards and others before turning back. Very interesting and great way to see some of Plymouth's maritime history.

We took the Cawsand ferry from the Barbican. We were well looked after by James, who was excellent with everyone on board! Thank you

Lady in the kiosk was quite abrupt when we were first purchasing tickets for the 1-hour harbour cruise. Luckily, we received a much friendlier welcome on board the boat by crew. They also came round to ask if any passengers wanted to buy drinks/snacks. The boat cruise was a nice experience, with interesting commentary. Unfortunately we were unable to hear all of this clearly due to quiet volume of the sound system, and a dog yapping numerous times throughout the cruise. Its owners should have taken the dog to a quieter part of the boat out of courtesy, but they didn’t as people are so entitled nowadays. I don’t feel that dogs (apart from assistance dogs of course) should be allowed on boats such as this, as they can cause a lot of disruption to other passengers. I saw two people smoking on the lower level, despite there being signs displayed saying ‘no smoking’. Also, there were also some children who kept getting up, moving around the boat and blocking our view - their parents did nothing to support with or rectify this. With these points in mind, I believe the crew should make clear announcements regarding appropriate behaviour from adults/children/animals on the boat, so everyone is clear of expectations and can try to be more considerate of others! The above impacted our overall enjoyment of the cruise, which was a shame. The water was more choppy than we anticipated, so bear this in mind.

A lovely day out!! My daughter (9) and father (83) both wanted to go. The Admin staff were super helpful regarding our needs. Julian on the boat was so friendly with lots of hints, tips and help. We caught loads and saw seals and had a generally wonderful time!

Excellent trip to Calstock last week. Wonderful weather and stunnIng views. However, there was a loud and rude group onboard - disrupting the peacefulness of the trip. All of the staff dealt with the group in a professional manner, politely asking them to remain respectful for everyone else on board. Overall, an enjoyable trip and would return again.

Today I had a very upsetting experience on a Plymouth Sound Boat trip.. I felt trapped out at sea with nowhere to escape from a large male member of staff who was rude and abusive toward myself and husband. We were sat at the back of the boat by the engines talking to a couple who had come to Plymouth on holiday and he said I was talking too loud. We were all surprised by this but I said I was sorry. Then on the way back from Calstock he said I being loud again, and again I said sorry not wanting to cause any trouble. I was upset by now and just wanted to get off this nightmare boat. We finally got back to the Barbican but as my husband and I joined the que to leave the boat he again walked over annoyed at us and talking loudly over everyone else though I do not know what he was saying as I was too upset. so I asked "WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG NOW AND WE WILL STOP DOING IT". He said that my husband of 25 years who had his arms around my waist to comfort me was being inappropriate in a public place. If someone told me this had happened to them I would have thought they were crazy. I am so upset.
