Est. in 1196, Torre Abbey is a museum of history and art housed in an Ancient Scheduled Monument on the beautiful South Devon coast. Based in Torquay on the English Riviera, this family friendly Torbay Council owned museum and gardens is a centre for creativity and culture with a seasonal programme of exhibitions, events and activities across visual arts, history and live performance. It was an enjoyable place to see. Looking at one of the building, built back in the 1300 and some of the Spanish sailors from the Amarda were quests there.

We found the whole place fascinating - especially the talking statue! Beautiful gardens to stroll around and sit in. There is a robotic art installation in the reception room which is not to be missed - I've never seen anything like it!
