Having just returned from Torquay we were bleseed with lovely autumnal weather. What could be better than doing this gentle stroll and taking in the beautiful scenery.

Torquay was a relatively minor settlement until the mid 19th Century when the railway linked it to the rest of the UK. The improved transport connections saw Torquay expand rapidly to cater for the area’s popularity with the Victorian’s desire to explore. After the First World War the Great Western Railway Company extensively promoted Torquay, helping the town to become... More

Wander along the seafront to the west of Torquay Harbour to the Grand Hotel and you have one of the most delightful views in England. Across the bay is Brixham and just peeping round the corner, Paignton. Lots of seats to rest your legs in addition to those along the pier and just watch the world go by - pople... More

A nice walk through Torquay, but not very well signed. Without map one would not find the stations. You can fetch the map at the tourist office at the harbour front, just next to the statue of Agatha Christie.

A lovely walk around the local area of Torquay, easy walking and the opportunity to look at the local history. Probably not ideal during bad weather.

Gave us a great insight into this famous mystery writer - was so good I expected either Miss Marple or Hercules Poirot to arrive

We did this walk a couple of times from our hotel without actually realising that it was part of the Agatha Christie mile. It was only when we saw some plaques on some buildings that we realised we had done it as we were trying to find out where the mile was.

The house was very interesting and contained much about Agatha's life there. The peaceful setting overlooking the river Dart was very relaxing and the weather helped to create an interesting visit

Just joined NT so decided to visit. Bought ticket to travel by bus, steam train and bus which worked out quite nicely (enjoyed the steam train). A bit wet so went into house first but a bit busy (due to weather I think). Then went into grounds. Lovely gardens but hilly in places. For some reason I struggled with layout... More

Being big fans we wanted to do this on our time here. It wasn't as straight forward as we thought but was worth the effort to get such an insight into her life. A must do.
