Cannot fault the friendliness of the staff, their knowledge of their products and processes, nor could you be disappointed with the majority of their produce. Definitely a good reason to buy British, though wine wise they will struggle price point wise to compete with equally good wine from the mass market. It's definitely an uphill struggle for these vineyards on that front.
The cheeses were gorgeous and well worth buying. The same can be said for their chutneys etc.
Wine value for money aside, the other disappointment is with the website booking process. We pre-booked as suggested, so as to get a timeslot, but when we arrived the staff weren't clear on the option we chose via that website. The options were also slightly misleading and perhaps could be worded better to clearly state what to expect on the day. Minor "glitches" per se, rather than anything drastic and this shouldn't distract travellers from the attentiveness and warm welcoming that you will receive.
One final point, as of 2022, the location will change. Check their website for details and we wish them well. As with most places off the beaten track in Devon, the roads are more suited to using a pick axe to climb than a car. Take care on the roads and don't expect to arrive there quickly.

We visited in August en route home to sample their cheese and wine and booked the unaccompanied wine tasting. We paid the extra which was £22 to sample 4 cheeses with biscuits and accompaniments and 4 wines, equivalent to 1 large glass, which came with an explanatory card and description from the server. The seating was generous and well spaced out.
There was a choice of around 6/7 wines but you can’t choose the cheese. I did ask but was told we can only give you what’s open which wasn’t great as I dislike Brie and that was one of them.
We spent around £60 in the shop on the wine and cheese we did like which is very good indeed, however, if you want to look around the vineyard they charge an additional £6 each even though we had already spent £82. That’s really mean when the walk isnt even attended and costs them nothing. It would be nice if they included this if you spent money in the shop.
Overall it was an ok experience but I would just find an outlet where they sell their produce rather than visit again.

Started with excellent customer service when we unfortunately arrived a few minutes late having taken the wrong public footpath walking from Tuckenhay to the Estate (before any wine was consumed!) The tour itself was very informative and the wines very nice with some Sharpham cheese and chutney to accompany the Pinot Noir. Only tip is if you want to eat in the cafe afterwards per-book as it was very busy but again very polite staff.

Very ignorant staff not helpful at all the place itself is rubbish there are no signs advising you where to park or where to pay it could be a lot better if the staff were happy and pleased to see customers rather than feeling as if you are an hindrance.
If you are expecting a good day out then don’t bother with this place it is all overpriced including the coffee and drinks.

Showed up hoping for a lovely day trying different wins, cheese and to enjoy the lovely cafe, on arrival there were no signs (nor on the website) to state they were closed due to staff coming down with covid, it was a waste of a journey down there ( which wasn’t the most pleasant), to then be let down, there was no staff telling anyone what there situation was, instead everyone was finding out through other customers, the cafes lad was helpful and polite with telling us what happened and kindly apologies for the inconvenience, sad to say we were let down

Visited the winery for a tour with guests yesterday and we were very impressed with the setup. Donna, our guide, was very knowledgeable and delivered a fantastic presentation even with distractions from a number of the group who were clearly less than interested in the information being so skilfully imparted.
The wines are lovely and the cheese delightful!

What a fabulous time we had! We were really well accommodated for as a family of 10! Beautiful location with excellent service. The wine tasting experience was lovely and the cheese that accompanied it was delicious. Will certainly ordering some wines and cheese online.
Would highly recommend 😁 xx

Great lunch, highly recommend lunch here. The lemon dessert was stunning, likewise the ham hock to start was one of the best I have had. Happy to revisit for more and more. Recommend to book ahead. Next visit will have to try their cheese.

Arrived and had a lovely lunch for 4 people, very slow service and small portions but the food was lovely.
After the tour and wine tasting we took a look in the shop. Very small choice of cheese and was told no tasters before we buy. Suggested this would be a good idea so people travelling could decide which one they like but was told this didn’t matter to them as they sell enough anyway. Still, we were happy to spend money in purchasing cheese and wine. We then sat down for another bottle of the wine at 4.45 to be told they close at 5 so we need to be finished by then and no later. After rude service throughout the day from the restaurant and shop staff we decided to liaise with a manager! This did not help…5 minutes after complaining about the staff we then walked into the shop to think about buying another type of cheese as we were happy to give it a go, to hear the staff talking and making rude comments about us very loudly to other staff members…. Safe to say I requested a refund for my previous purchase. I do not recommend this place if you’re looking for a friendly place to visit.
The staff appear untrained with regards to customer care and attention. Un - experienced staff, no overall experienced supervisor! I felt so uncomfortable throughout the day after spending so much money this is not somewhere I would like to go again.
Very disappointed!!

If going by train from Totnes to Sharpham Wine, how near are you to a station?
DuncanSchwab

We are an hours walk along the river by following the cycle track by the Steam Packet Inn. Alternatively you can get a cab which takes around 10 - 15 mins.
Hope that helps
