Absolutely appalling! Rooms were tired , dirty and drab even after getting an upgrade To a “better room” it was still below standard, Pictures were misleading. We were also kept awake pretty much all night by people in the room Opposite us who were shouting. When we raised this with the reception staff they were argumentative and didn’t even apologise telling us the problem guests had checked out when they hadn’t. We checked out early as when we came back from a walk the couple opposite us were screaming and the smell of weed coming from their room was unbelievable. It felt like a hostel not a hotel.

We stayed in this hotel recently, I get the COVID restrictions and the bar staff were amazing however the reception staff not so much, we booked this hotel because it had a leisure centre including jacuzzi, sauna etc and even rang the hotel to check these facilities were open when we were visiting however we went down to use the facilities to be told by a pleasant young man that the jacuzzi and sauna are out of action, to say we were disappointed was an understatement as this was the main reason of booking this hotel. I went to reception to complain and a thoroughly unpleasant man argued with me that his staff would not have said the facilities were open as they hadn’t reopened after lockdown, so basically called me a liar, I was embarrassed and humiliated as there were a few other people in the reception area, not happy at all. Customer service on reception needs looking at !!!!

Avoid it, do not enter! It is dated and smells, needs redecorating. It is dirty and tired. The spa is closed apart from the pool if you get that far! The cream tea was all frozen foods and the scones were stale, rock hard! After alerting one of the staff they agreed and bought out another tray, which was the same, still frozen and stale.

A last minute cycling holiday on a right budget meant I was choosing hotal on room rate rather then review I'd spent my first two night in bourthmouth in another cheap dated hotal but changed for third night due to location. Looked at pictures saw room rate and booked, then read review which were truly shocking so nervously booked in expecting the worse yes their were queues but that covid.hotal is huge so a bit off a maze to find room but if I can anyone can room wasnt at all dated door sealed remote control in sealed covering first hotal iv stayed in that has done that I was excepting for price to have singal bed but had a doubal the room was small and scruffy and Mark's on wall but I had that in rooms iv paid a lot more for bathroom had shower but attached to taps but no problem getting tempture right.the hotal it self is a grand old building amazing grounds indoor pool gym complex lounge is huge dated but vintage bar serves a food and their is a restaurant I didnt eat in that but some guest said their evening meal was the best food thed ever tasted .iv paid much more in other hotal that were not up to the standard off this place it not perfect but for under 40 pound I didnt expect it to be would definitely stay again in in area

All I requested was a double bed and not 2 singles. Checked in got changed quickly and went out. Upon returning with my misses I got onto the "double" bed and fell through the middle as it turned out to be 2 singles pushed together comple with single duvets. I went and raised the issue with the reception and was told that I would have to speak to the manager in the morning. Found manager in the morning and told him I was promised a double bed and he had the cheek to say that I had been upgraded to a room with a view (of a car park) and this so called superior room comes with 2 singles. I was not asked if I wanted this mythical upgrade to a room that I would not have wanted. The best offer he made was a 10% discount which is a joke, it I could make an official complaint. Which is exactly what I am going to do.
