Will never go to the BIC again.
Extremely disappointing experience at the BIC. The concert itself was great (Status Quo) but was ruined by: 1. A row of security officers at the door insisting on checking bags, confiscating all drinks you brought yourself (even soft drinks). They even tried to confiscate one ladies perfume bottle! No customer service whatsoever, and were rude and blunt when questioned about this, saying 'it's in the T & C's' 2. Extremely over-priced drinks at the bar (obviously why they don't like you bringing your own drinks). £3.00 for a small bottle of pepsi. Bar doesn't take cash, only cards, and no indication of this on the tickets. Further more, they confiscate the drink tops from any bottle you purchase so your drink goes flat. 3. Pre-booked parking for the evening was £9 and there was no organization of people leaving whatsoever. Had to queue 40 minutes to get out! People were becoming frustrated at the unexplained delay and we witnessed a bump between cars. 4. No dancing was allowed (at a Status Quo concert!) 5. The toilets were not clean and the whole place is in need of a refurb. 6. If you like to enjoy yourself, don't bother coming to the BIC to see your favourite bands - see them at another venue.

Louts and drunks ruined our Christmas gift visit.
A visit for a big name at the BIC was a real disappointment. It wasn’t the person we went to see who disappointed but the venue itself. Whereas before Covid no one could take their drinks into the main hall and their seats, now there are all kinds of folk carrying full litres of beer and going in and out of the hall all through the performance. The row behind us had drunken youths with regular refills and in danger of tipping their big beers over us. A young woman beside us tried to carefully remonstrate with them and it made not a jot of difference. As we were in DD67+DD68, very close to an exit where staff were stood watching disappointed that none of them moved a muscle. The BIC may earn a lot from their booze policy nowadays but I bet there’s loads more mess, complaints and fighting at shows. We won’t go there again, whoever is appearing. Much better the smaller theatres locally like the Tivoli in Wimborne where you can enjoy your visit
I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your visit on this occasion. Our alcohol policy varies from event to event based on the wishes of the artist and the expectations of the audience as was the case prior to the pandemic. For the majority of events this runs well, however, if someone is getting a little carried away our team can help on the night. If this happens in the future please speak with a member of staff, so we can assist straight away. Regards, R. Noverraz

    Truly a parking nightmare
The car park is the worst I have ever used. It is not fit for purpose. The lanes for entering, moving up and down the levels are very narrow. The signage especially for the exit lane is very confusing. If you have any car bigger than a mini you will be need to be extremely careful not to have a bump or scrape. The exit and entrance is almost impossible to turn into, it's such an awful angle and too tight. The side barriers have plenty of damage to show how difficult parking here will be. The lighting is poor and ceilings very low. I would recommend you do not use this car park unless its a last resort.
Thanks for leaving a review although I’m sorry to hear that you struggled with the car park. We are working on some upgrades in the new year, and will take on board your feedback about signage as part of that project. Regards. R. Noverraz

Lady scanning tickets on door 6 on October 13th extremely rude. Didn't understand how to scan a ticket and grabbed my phone without asking and was tutting at us when we were nothing but polite. I would recommend customer service training ASAP.

    Parking is a complete rip-off
Both Winter Gardens and BH2 car parks were full so used the BIC car park. Entered at 3pm and left at 7:30pm on Saturday and I was charged £16. Apparently £10 was a flat fee due to an event at the BIC but I don't understand how I was then charged the extra £6? The £10 flat fee is not advertised when you enter the car park - the sign's go up later. Its like a lottery on how much you will end up paying for parking at this venue. The price changes during your stay. Beware!

Avoid the BIC and Pavilion in Bournemouth- go elsewhere
I've learnt from previous experience of both the Pavilion & BIC that its better to travel a distance from Bournemouth/Poole to see your favourite bands, even if you need to book a hotel for the night. The BIC and Pavilion, thanks to "BH Leisure" poor management, are run down venues that have been starved of investment for years. Where as other venues have been refurbished and upgraded over the years these two have been left to rot. Ticket prices are always high and equal or exceed that of other far superior venues on a bands tour. Avoid until BCP/ BH Leisure get their act together and sell these venues to an operator who will invest and provide the area with at least one venue to be proud of and enjoy your visit.

Arrived about 7:15pm for show at 8pm. No queues to get in, this surprised me which was good. No queue for the bar either. Seats are quite close to row in front so zero leg room. Glad we didn’t park at the venue as I could imagine it would be a nightmare to get out when everyone leaves. Hint: if you can leave 10 mins before end of show to get your car.

We visited last weekend to see Russell Howard which was a sell out.
The queue into the building kept moving and once inside we had bags checked and signposted where to head for our seats.
I had a power wheelchair with me and it was no problem to leave it at the side (we were sat about 6 rows back from the stage).
Staff and disabled access was good even though there were so many people there.

Had a really great evening and cried with tears of laughter, really appreciate how Russel can find the humour in the darkness and bring people together. If you haven't seen him before I highly recommend seeing him live and uncensored as he's a truly unique individual and highly amusing 🤣😂🤣

Over the years I have visited this venue five times, and all of those three have been to see the same Blues and Rock performer that we saw on this occasion. The venue is one of my favourites as it is a spacious and airy. The capacity on the (main) Windsor hall is 4,045 and that means that major performers (like tonight’s performer, Joe Bonamassa) will favour performing here on tours.

The new ticketing system with online bookings was efficiently catered for, there were sufficient staff on duty to deal with the arrival of the concertgoers. The QR code scanners worked first time and we were through to the auditorium very quickly. You should note that the scan must be made from your mobile device and not a printed copy. Staff inside the main hall were plentiful and they efficiently directed us to our seats.

Seating was comfortable and in good condition and every time I have visited I have has a good view of the stage. We didn’t use the bar area, but the a loo-break revealed that the conveniences were also clean and presentable.

Sound quality is usually very good but on this occasion the bass-player was substantially over amplified to the pint where the speakers were pushing out a lot of distortion. A shame, but this was the band’s problem not the venue’s: the sound engineers obvious got it so wrong. We heard other people comment as we all left the venue.

The BIC is located just a short distance from the town centre and close to the beach and pier. There is an adjacent wheelchair accessible carpark provided, but this is not exclusive to BIC patrons. Four over carparks are nearby. We were staying n Bournemouth and walked from the Meyrick Park area in 20 minutes.

Thanks for the very comprehensive and thorough review. It’s really helpful to get a full picture of how our processes work and where we need to make improvements. We’ve put a lot of effort into improving our technology recently, so it’s good to hear that it’s paying off. We hope to welcome you again soon! Regards, R. Noverraz
