- Dunston PLondon, United Kingdom4 contributionsA great place for the summerSuch a wonderful place. The beach is great, the atmosphere is great and when the sun is shining it's a great place to be. If you can get down there on a weekday it's even better as its not crowded. There are good places to eat. You will be paying London prices but that is unfortunately expected.Visited August 2022Travelled with friendsWritten 18 December 2022
- Megan ADerby, United Kingdom9 contributionsAmazing beaches! Like being abroad. We’ve visited Bournemouth twice in the last two years for our summer holidays. Coming from the Midlands, we are used to our nearest beaches being along the East Coast. Bournemouth is a stark contrast for all the right reasons! Amazing atmosphere, very clean with excellent facilities. Most importantly, lovely golden sand and much clearer sea water than we’re used to! We’d never seen outside showers on the coast in this country before which was ideal for cleaning our feet before returning to the apartment. If you close your ears, you’d think you were abroad!Visited July 2022Travelled with familyWritten 10 January 2023
- Ann CNashville, Tennessee3,238 contributionsBournemouth BeachBournemouth Beach has soft golden sand, it is a wide, long beach and you can walk for miles if you wanted to (we did). The area has cafes/restaurants and clean restrooms. Even on a chilly December day there were a lot of folks enjoying the area.Visited December 2022Written 21 January 2023
- daisy700East Midlands, United Kingdom16 contributionsFelt like being abroadFirst time visiting Bournemouth for work purposes so took time out to visit the beach. Couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. Honestly felt like being abroad. Nice clean sand, clear blue skies and blue water. Although it was February, we were blessed with nice weather on the day which made the experience even more enjoyable. Will definitely return during the summer with family.Visited February 2023Travelled with familyWritten 12 February 2023
- Nicola HLondon, United Kingdom73 contributionsBeach escapeNot having visited Bournemouth before, the beach was a real surprise. Beautiful sandy beach and so long! A lovely long walk East the weather was fabulous for a mid February Saturday. Lots of people enjoying the space. A lovely clean beach.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 February 2023
- MdS_reviewIckenham, United Kingdom3 contributionsTry the Rock Reef zipwireThe pier to shore zipwire was well worth the trip to Bournemouth. Such an exhilarating experience flying over the waves. Much anxiousness beforehand, whilst getting kitted out and into the harness, and then climbing the spiral staircase, but so worth it. It’s a short flight, but the team at either end were kind and helpful in putting us at ease.Visited April 2023Written 8 April 2023
- Neil LuxBorehamwood, United Kingdom59 contributionsReally good UK beachJust a wonderful sandy beach… and in the UK. Clean, tidy, and plenty of space, the further you come away from the pier area. Head towards Alum Chine. Kids loved it, we loved and every time we have been the sun has shine all day. A good feature is the plenty of ice cream stalls, bars, food outlets and the water refill statons.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 April 2023
- Atif M14 contributionsPerfect day outGot lucky with weather 21°. Very clean beech, good amenities shops and places ro eat. 2 things that stopped a 5 star rating were 1. Cost of parking £16 for 6 hours. The pier fish and chips was £21. Otherwise good scenic location with clear water. 👌Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 May 2023

Derry, the lifeguard was performingly outstandingly well to bandage me aswell as enlighten me - couldn't ask for better beach lifeguards!!Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 June 2023
- pesue1Nuneaton, United Kingdom557 contributionsShameBeen here many times, the beach is lovely on a sunny day, unfortunately today isn't one so we walked into the town. What a disappointment it really looks run down with many closed shops, we didn't feel safe or comfortable with the people around. Doubt if we will returnVisited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 July 2023

Wow beach, lovely, big, clean and sandy.
Really near the town and shops.
Bournemouth Xmas lights are lovely in the winter gardens which lead you to the beach... Via fresh cooked sugar donuts and a quick ride on the ferris-wheel 😂😍

Even on a windy day in October we had a good time walking barefoot in the sand and paddling. Even enjoyed an ice cream. Wind was blowing sand across the beach but not up. It was easier coming back towards the pier with the wind behind us!

Unspoilt beaches that stretch for miles and miles. Clean, well maintained. Clear signposts, maps and places of interest. Excellent toilet facilities at frequent points between Boscombe Beach right through to Sandbanks. Lovely to see the Cliff Lifts working. Definitely recommend all the beaches along this coastline.

A beautiful beach. My mother and I spent a short break in Bournemouth and were lucky enough to get our beach hut with our accommodation. The beach was super clean and because it’s so long plenty of space. One of the best beaches I have visited in the UK.

A long stretch of lovely sandy beaches, a great area to swim in the sea. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, including cocktails and ice cream.
On the down, it is at the bottom of a steep hill no matter where you approach it from, but there is, however, a cliff side lift for £2 per single journey.

Beach was great, would rival any in the uk. But that's it... People sleeping rough. Rubbish everywhere. Pier is a rip-off. Everything is contactless payment only, which doesn't suit all. Total waste of a day.

I didn't see any pony rides available while I was there, I went from Alum Chine beach to Bournemouth Pier along the promenade in May.

If you have the weather a lovely walk through the park. Then along the beach. Stop of at each different beach for a cheeky drink

Hello, how busy is the beach on Fridays? Is it as busy as weekends?
Louise E

The beach is 7 miles long. If you need to be near facilities the beach Will be busier near the facilities but quieter further away. yes Friday’s are normally quieter than Saturday , except for peak holiday time on a hot day when the beach is always busy because it is so lovely
Thinking of coming w/c 17th Feb but wondered whether places will be open.

I think some will be but not sure. Might be good to go on the Bournemouth website to see. Especially as it’s still the winter time.

Hi Tilly
I live here, and am saddened at your comment. Bournemouth beach is seven miles long. Certainly, the beach is crowded around the piers, but move along a bit and there is oodles of space. I have a beach hut under Fisherman's Walk, and this Monday I was there with family, enjoying fabulous and un-crowded sand, and great swimming. Try hiring a beach hut next time, away from the piers. I promise you, it is well worth it.
