Best of Swanage

Great pub. Friendly, decent prices (compared to London), good atmosphere, open late, and really good bands and music. Great to eavesdrop on the local gossip too !

Supposed to be the oldest pub in Swanage. Enjoyed a convivial welcome to their quiz night. Sadly didn't win.

Great decor and cosy. staff friendly and the music is great :). drinks are a reasonable price. This pub should be alot busier than it is but to be fair it is 7pm on a Wednesday ( on holiday not alcoholics) :)

Pub always seemed to be empty, but not sure why - comfy decor, dog friendly, reasonably priced drinks - what more do you want? Although the toilets could do with an overhaul! Good job our friends live round the back we can nip to if required!!

Visited for lunch during the week. It was very quiet with only a few tables occupied. Very helpful and friendly landlord. Food was good and the only criticism was that the bread used in the sandwiches was too thick - proper doorsteps!

Stayed for a week in Swanage visiting friends and after going to The Anchor Inn on the Wednesday for quiz night, we returned again Thursday for Poker Night, Saturday for the live music and had a beautiful home cooked roast dinner before leaving on the Sunday. Couldn't recommend each of these nights more highly. Very friendly atmosphere and the young... More
