Silas walks you through the streets of Brighton and brings to life the gruesome tails which lurk within its shadows. Using his theatrical past to bring the tales to life, he is a master of recounting the paranormal, intertwined with local history and a healthy dollop of humour. He tempers his performance to his crowd and all will be entertained.

This is a brilliant way to see some of the historic buildings and learn more about Brightons heritage . Our group was small (7 of use) but I felt that made an excellent t experience - our tour guide and ghost host was very funny and brought many stories to life. Worth the money - the cost of a couple of rounds in the pub for 2 people and would highly recommend.

Hello!
I was delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your evening on the ghost walk. I always strive to embrace Brighton history within my tales and to offer a few anecdotal asides. I was also pleased to hear that you felt the walk proved good value for money; always good to hear. Thank you for taking the time to offer such a kind and generous review.
Best wishes,

It has been amazing! We were convinced by other nice reviews and we must say it has been very entertaining!
Silas the ghost walker has been an exceptional guide and the stories were interesting and fun. Very nice jokes! He knows how to act the part and he’s really nice with children too (there were 5 children with our group and they were all amazed and interested).
I used to live in Brighton a few years back and didn’t know anything about this tour but I recommend it at least once even if you live there it could be interesting. If you are a tourist it’s a must! You have to try it!
The props were really funny and helped the show running smoothly and gave that special accent to the experience. I’m saying this because someone complained about them in a review but I find no reason to, they are appropriate.
Even if some people passing by were trying to bother us (and there were a few since it was Friday night) the actor has been extremely capable.
Highly recommend and would do it again in the future if I visit with friends!
If you have any enquiries just call the phone number, they are really willing to help and answer questions about the tour.
Keep up the good work!

Hello Sara,
Thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review of my tour. Needless, to say, I am delighted by your comments and, moreover, by how much you enjoyed your evening on the ghost walk. I always strive to offer as much information as I can in the time allowed and to embrace as much of Brighton's history alongside the ghost stories. Furthermore, as a former teacher, father, and grandfather, it is always a delight to have children join me on the tour and to converse with them along the way and answer any questions they might have, Thank you once again for such a kind and generous review.
Kind regards,
Rob (aka Silas the Ghost Walker)

We travelled 3 hours to visit Brighton for the weekend and I was really looking forward to this ghost walk, but unfortunately I did not have a great experience.
We paid £12 each an ended up missing about 70% of what was said as we really could not hear the lady speaking. The tour was held on a Saturday night around 7.30-8ish, so on our route unfortunately there were a number of bars, buskers, clubbers in the street and vehicles.
There was around 25ish people in the group, so we were all squeezing round to get close enough to hear her, but this was proving very difficult at most points as there was just too much background noise.
From what we did manage to hear, the knowledge and information was great, just a shame about the rest.

Hello,
I'm sorry that you were unable to hear all that was being said due to noise intrusion on the night you attended. I imagine it was one of Brighton's more raucous Saturday nights. However, I have spoken with Rosa on the matter. She assured me that she had made a point of asking customers if they could hear; no one said they couldn’t, which I find odd in view of what you have told me. Moreover, Rosa is a very accomplished storyteller with a great deal of experience with a very lucid voice. Should you wish to discuss the matter further I am at my desk most days. Alternatively, you can contact me on my mobile phone.
Kind regards,
Rob (aka Silas the Ghost Walker)

A superbly atmospheric and comedic experience. Our guide Silas was a joy to watch and listen to as my partner and I hung on every word of the spooky and informative tales of Brighton’s past. I’ve experienced my share of ghost tours, many lacking the acting prowess and warm welcome provided by Mark (Silas).
As a budding young filmmaker with an interest in the supernatural and folklore, I’m excited to attend again when we move to Brighton in the coming future and further explore the city’s haunted past and very much intend to get a copy of Mark’s book on the Lanes haunted histories. Tailored to both the youngest and eldest people of our tour group, it was a fantastic and cost-worthy experience all round. Thanks a bunch and hopefully see you again soon!

Hello,
Please excuse my tardiness in not having responded sooner. Tripadvisor do not seem to be informing me of reviews via email any longer. Anyway, I was delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the ghost walk and, moreover, my hamming it up. It's also interesting that you recognise that we aim to cater for families and not make thing too scary, but entertaining. Thank you so much ffor you generous review.
Kind regards,
Rob

We had an exclusive tour as there was only the 2 of us for this tour. We had Silas who was a great storyteller as well as being very knowledgeable and added a bit of humour to the walk.
Price was reasonable for the tour which lasted about 80 mins.
Overall enjoyable

Hello,
Yes, it was an unusually quiet night, sometimes that happens for no apparent reason and the whole of Brighton seems to go dead. My policy for the pubic walks is to entertain whoever turns up, be it two or fifty. Anyway, I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed your exclusive ghost walk. Many thanks for your kind review.
Best wished,
Rob

Fabulous!! We’ve done several ghost tours around the country - but this was by far the best one. Loved the props and the dramatic acting of Silas- he is most entertaining and his stories are fun and historically interesting. Highly recommend! Especially if you’ve got kids- they’ll LOVE him!

Hello Chris,
I feel very flattered by such a generous review, and pleased to hear that my tomfoolery was so entertaining. I always aim to embrace as much of the history of Brighton as I can within my stories while keeping things fun and light-hearted. It's always enjoyable to have families aboard as kids seem to love the props along with ringing the bell and watch me hamming it up..Thank you once again for your kind review..

The weather was bad but our guide was GREAT! HUUUUUGE thanks to ROSA for guiding us through the mysterious past of Brighton's ghosts. she made it a really fun way to learn about the deep (and sometimes dark) history of Brighton. I went into it not expecting much but Rosa's storytelling made it a very exciting experience that gave me goosebumps! I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun experience and I'd definitely recommend going when Rosa is doing it.

Silas was incredibly captivating and funny as well as solemn and spooky. It was a fantastic fun way to learn about the history of the Brighton lanes, but still remained light hearted. Definitely the best ghost walk I've been on!

Visited Brighton for the first time this weekend and decided to do the ghost walk of the lanes after spotting the sign outside the Druids Head. Me and my partner had a fantastic time with Silas as our guide! We learnt a brief history of the lanes of Brighton which also really helped us out navigating our way around. We were told multiple gripping tales of spooky happenings in Brighton, complete with interactive props and plenty of witty humour. Silas was very enthusiastic, professional and really made our first trip special!

is it a suitable tour for a 13 year old?
Written 25 June 2018
Hi, Yes, this tour is suitable for a thirteen year old. I would not take a child who is under eight years but above is fine. This is not because of the content of the tour , merely my personal opinion of what is suitable..
