Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We (The Fox Project) recently organised a fundraising abseil event in collaboration with Hatt Adventures, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The professionalism and expertise demonstrated by their team were truly impressive. They provided all the necessary equipment and ensured that every aspect of the event ran smoothly.
On the day of the abseil, we were met by an incredible team consisting of Andy, Matt, and Connie. Their friendly and approachable demeanor immediately put everyone at ease. Not only were they knowledgeable and skilled, but they also brought a delightful sense of humor that made the day enjoyable for all participants.
What stood out most was their genuine care for each abseiler. They showed remarkable patience, especially with those who were struggling to overcome their fears. Their encouragement and support created a safe and uplifting environment, allowing everyone to push their limits and achieve personal milestones.
I wholeheartedly recommend Hatt Adventures for any event requiring abseil expertise. Their commitment to safety, combined with their friendly and supportive approach, made our fundraising event a memorable success. Thank you, Hatt Adventures, for helping us create such an amazing experience!

I took part in a charity abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago and cannot recommend these guys highly enough. They put us at ease from the beginning and were very thorough checking the equipment both at the bottom and the top. Once out on the platform their instructions were very clear and strangely I didn’t feel nervous at all because I felt safe and in control. All five of us had a great experience. Thank you for your friendly professionalism throughout. This has encouraged me to check out their other experiences.

Hatt Adventures were brilliant! We were running a charity abseil event and Tom and Andy were so calm on the day and knew exactly what they were doing to help get our supporters abseiling down the cliffs. Some of our supporters were very nervous and the Hatt guys made them feel at ease.
The event ran smoothly and we are delighted to have raised over £6,500 for our charity! Emma was also extremely helpful on the lead up to the abseil and helped us advertise our event on social media.
A very positive experience- would highly recommend. Our supporters were keen to do future events for us and had nothing but good feedback for Hatt Adventures too!

My teenage son and I very much enjoyed our paddle on the Ouse, in a small group of 7 plus the instructor Kyle, who was good fun and very laid back but also very professional, keeping an eye on everyone at all times. The instructions are very clear, and I'd recommend you follow them, in particular make sure you take enough and the right clothes for the season or you will get cold. Definitely worth a go, it is a good adventure but safe even for inexperienced kayakers.

I recently attended the 2 day winter skills course in the Highlands of Scotland.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to explore the outdoors more in all seasons of the UK. The Highlands of Scotland get serious weather and this course prepared me to move safely and confidently through the hills in any weather.
The instructor Levi was informative whilst not bombarding us with information. We learnt through 'doing' and not just being talked at. He kept us safe whilst letting us experience the true brutal Scottish weather.
The accommodation was basic but it was clean and served its purpose. I think the close knit quarters of the accommodation meant that we got to know the other participants on the course quicker and better than we would have otherwise.
I went on the course solo, as did the other 3 people on the course and it was absolutely fine, don't feel you need to go with someone you already know.
If you haven't seen the Highlands before, they are Definitely worth the visit. Stunning

I recently did the 2 day Outdoor First Aid course with Hatt. It was the 4th such course I have done for my MTA qualifications but the first with Hatt and it was by far the best one I have done. An experienced, informed and passionate instructor providing ample opportunities for questions and clarifications as well as realistic scenario based learning in the woods at Blacklands Farm. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a 2 day outdoor first aid course!

I booked a 3 hour family rock climbing trip for 3 children. The guide Kevin was very calm, reassuring and informative and he had the children scrambling and climbing with confidence in a short time. The level of challenge was just right for the ages and Kevin’s knowledge of the rocks and various routes up was excellent . Communication with the company in general was easy and they were very accommodating to our needs.

Very professional and supportive company.
Adam, Levi, Kyle and Tom all got me through my fear of hights by helping me abseil down a cathedral.
All 4 guys were incredibly supportive and calming and gave me the strength and courage to conquer my fears .
Highly recommend this company.

The team at Hatt Adventure's was incredible, especially Katie Law (in the office) and Andy Cash (our Instructor for the half day experience). We went in July (2024) and the weather was wonderful, plus the fellow climbers we met on the day were lovely and supportive too. A great morning out!
Andy checked that we had our equipment on correctly, then we were able to get started on a climb. We did 5 or 6 different routes up Harrison's Rocks which was a great experience, especially for a first time climber.
Thanks again, Hatt Adventure team for a fantastic rock climbing experience!

We booked a last minute kayaking experience for our family (2 adults and 2 children (13, 15), Tom was very accommodating despite the short notice. We chose sea kayaking from Saltdean. We had a great time with Levi who was informative and made us feel safe whilst bringing out a healthy amount of family competition between us all!

Hi Robert! As long as each participant is in reasonably healthy conditions, there is no upper age limit to our activities. We look forward to seeing you soon :)

I don't know how to swim is that okay if I go there?
Written 18 August 2016
Absolutely! The lake is very gently sloped if you wanted to just paddle and you can choose whether to go in at all!
