something different

Don't be deceived - go and have an afternoon tea and then take a wander back to see the crypt and also on the top road to see the church

We then spoke to a very nice lady who explained all the events that were coming up. We have now signed up to St. Mary's in the Castle and look forward to... More

This restaurant (now called Poshikas Noshikas) only opened a few months ago following the St Mary-in-the-Castle renovations. We were passing at teatime, so thought we'd drop in for a cuppa and cake. The dinginess of the old space is no more, with a welcome large new skylight. The dining room feels quite formal, with imposing dark brown wooden tables and... More

At lunchtime I ordered the beer-battered cod and chips. Service was very slow and when it came i am sure it was not cod, and it certainly wasn't any-sort-of batter, and wondered if in fact it was from nearby Iceland shop, but I am sure the Iceland fish would have been much bigger and tastier. I think the one I... More

Came here for breakfast. Sat outside as inside was rather warm. food. The staff were very obliging. As soon as we sat we were offered complementary bottle of cooled water, which was welcomed on a hot morning. Had 'Fool English' and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and just about the right amount, it did not fill you up... More

We have walked past this restaurant several times and decided to try it this evening we were surprised at how empty it was, the food was freshly prepared so the wait was a bit longer than we thought it would be but saying that it was well worth waiting for the chicken was perfect and the salad was fresh and... Visited for lunch, not sure how long the restaurant has been open, seemed to be a little still under construction. Risotto was very tasty, the burgers appeared to be home made, the staff seemed very helpful and friendly, service was slow, but for value for money, very good.
