Covehurst is a beach for all people, naturists, naturalists, libertines and dog walkers, an idyl whose beauty bestows a giddy sense of freedom to enjoy as see fit. Where the purists and hedonists happily coexist in a liberal garden of Eden. And as an Eve who enjoys several Adams, I found refreshing that could simply be, and not confined to a special section, next to the gays, like a naughty step. People here simply do as please. There's an air of generosity about the place. And If don’t want to be bothered no one will, most are simply there to laze and picnic, and voyeurs neither plentiful or intrusive. Unlike Clacton they won't sit yards away unless choose to laze invitationally. And large boulders at the far end that you can slip behind. But no greater need to disguise your inclinations. Returning I was met with only smiles. And an almost equal high was walking back from, as the rambling path to is simply amazing, more rainforest than glade and one that once familiar with allows you to return without dressing in seclusion of enchanting greenery. And lots do, till reach the gate again. It's au natural in blissful nature. Xx

My wife and I walked miles in the heat to reach this beach as I had read raving reviews about it. Walking through the nature reserve we saw very few people so imagine my surprise after we descended a well worn, uneven pathway through the trees to find an over crowded rock strewn beach with people looking for a space to sit. Not somewhere I wanted to be given COVID19!!! The clothing optional part didn't bother me (virtually everyone had swim clothes on), the crowds and the rocks did. We beat a very hasty retreat with me humbly apologising to my wife for having dragged her there.

This is a beautiful beach and well worth the effort to get there. It is a clothing options beach, with the majority of visitors being naked. I love this place and visit as often as I can.

We parked as directed in the nature park car park and started walking. It was quite a hike all downhill towards the coast and we finally came upon a sign that said Beach with a dire warning that it was at our own risk blah blah because the hot weather had rendered it unsafe. What it did not tell you at that point is that it is a nudist beach - and I missed the handpainted note on one of the trees as we trekked on downwards because I was too busy chatting. So imagine my surprise as I went to step onto the (stony) beach only to be confronted by a man wearing only shoes and a backpack! AND he pushed past me in a very narrow opening - thought he could at least have let my daughter and myself step out of the way. just weird and won;t be going back there.....

We regularly walk our dog on this beach and always find it lovely. Even on the worst of days there is something (literally) breath taking about this beach. It's well worth a visit for anyone in the local area.

Most of the South East England coast is developed to some extent with the vast majority of the coastline within touching distance of a road or a car park - Coverhurst Bay is one of the few wilderness beaches that remains. The beach is more than half an hours walk from the nearest through some of the most stunning countryside in the region, through forests, across stream before eventually popping out in a secluded cove under the sandstone cliffs of the Hastings Country Park. The setting for the beach is lovely under the thorn trees and forests of the cliffs and the beach is pebbley (mixed with larger stones and sand at low tide). It is family freindly but is also popular with naturists so only visit if you are relaxed about sharing the beach with a few with naked septingenarions! Well worth a hike through the Country park for a bit of unspoiled undeveloped coastline
