    In need of TLC
The park was well advertised from the road, with an abundance of penguin images everywhere. On the basis of this we took a walk in, and alas, the penguins had all gone, and the enclosure was emptied out of water. Having retrospectively looked at the website, there is indeed an online notice to let people know the penguins are unavailable, due to health reasons, which is of course fine. However I think they must advertise this clearly for walk ins, as we would have visited another time. They are undeniably a main attraction, utilised heavily in the parks advertising. The rest of the park looks tired and sadly appears to have seen better days. Dinosaur area was essentially a mud path with a building site behind it. Such a shame as the location and potential is fantastic.
Thank you for visiting and for leaving a review. I’m obviously disappointed to hear that you didn't enjoy your visit more. Unfortunately we did have to temporarily close our penguin enclosure earlier this year, and did our best to communicate this with visitors through our website and press channels. We are constantly investing in the park and have unveiled several new enclosure sin recent years. We value all visitor feedback. Many thanks

Not what it used to be...
Really disappointed with our visit today. I was looking forward to returning as our last visit was before the pandemic. Myself, five year old and my parents. Firstly, there is a "sign" saying cash only for the cafe on entry. Fair enough, we checked we had enough cash between us for lunch and went on in. After wandering around, letting little one have a play and then going to the cafe to find the cafe had literally nothing for lunch. There was no hot or cold lunch items at all. There was prepackaged brownies and crisps at a horrendous price! We were told that maybe they would have a chef tomorrow. We then went back for some drinks later on and to get an ice cream as little one had seen signs everywhere with ice creams... to be told to check the website as basically they don't offer a cafe service anymore and even though there were freezers, there were none. The birds / averies, I don't remember feeling this way on our last visit, but they felt dirty, miserable even and just run down in general. On the way out I did try to constructively give feedback that if the sign stating cash only stated no food available, we could have got some food and then gone back in later, plus the staff in the cafe were taking a lot of flack from some customers, to be met by quite a defensive answer that we could have gone out for food if we wanted to. Overall, we were really disappointed with the visit today, which is such a shame as we really enjoyed our previous visit.
Thank you for visiting and for taking the time to leave a review. I’m disappointed to hear you didn’t have a better experience a the park. We value all visitor feedback as we are always striving to improve. Many thanks

    Give it a go
Nice little bird zoo. Lots of different birds. Dog friendly. Penguins and they have talks and wstch them being fed. Do not have as many penguins as they had when we visited a few years ago. It's worth a visit.
Thank you for visiting Birdland writing a review. I'm so pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit. We hope you'll return again. Many thanks

    Disappointing Visit
Took our care home residents to Birdland for the day. Unfortunately we found it was quite rundown and really needed some TLC. It wasn’t very big which on the plus side meant we could get our residents around ok, it was fine for wheelchairs and easy to walk around. We thought the prices were steep not worth £11.95/£12.95. However for carers it was acceptable £3. It would have been nice to have a few nice plants dotted around. The Cafe was also poor and looked rundown. Sorry won’t be returning.
Thank you so much for visiting and for taking the time to leave a review. I'm obviously disappointed to hear that your visit didn't live up to your expectations. There are currently plans in place to redevelop our onsite catering facilities. We value all visitor feedback as we're always looking at ways to improve. Many thanks

Entertaining for both adults and children
The park was good. We arrived on a 28° day, but there are lots of trees so didn't feel that warm. The variety of birds kept myself, my 6yo, my friend and her almost 1yo entertained. The penguins and flamingos being the day's favourites. My only gripe was the cafe. It was rather chaotic. It was tiny and no obvious queue. No sandwiches ready for kids meal deals. Drinks in the fridge weren't cold. It was hotter than outside and it was 28° outside. The staff must have been boiling. However they were more than happy to fill my water bottle with tap water. If you're visiting, 3 hours parking should be fine. It's external to the bird park. Recommend downloading the Pay By Phone app and setting that up ith your details before you leave. Much quicker. Thankful I already had it installed.
Thank you so much for visiting and for taking the time to leave a review. I'm pleased to hear that you all enjoyed the variety of birds! We value all visitor feedback and are keen to keep improving the park. Also, there are currently plans in place to redevelop our onsite catering facilities. Many thanks

    Better than expected.
To be fair we were not expecting a lot just finding something of interest because of very wet weather. A good selection of birds, the penguins were playing statues and saw 2 baby flamingos. Overall a pleasant visit.
Thank you for visiting Birdland. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed the variety of birds we have. We hope you'll be back again soon. Many thanks

Filled a couple of hours but wouldn’t revisit.
We had an ok time at birdland. The penguin talk was really engaging and our son loved it. We had fun exploring, but after a couple of hours we felt like we’d seen as much as we could. The food quality was good but the standards of hygiene and cleanliness could have been a little better.

    Peaceful park
So what a lovely little find we found at the birdland, it small very pretty and would take about two hours to go round. So pack a picnics and sit next to the lovely water fall enjoying the view of the flamingos and just enjoy the fresh air of the place. One thing i would say get there early get to the car park for about ten/ half ten or your be sat in a cue of traffic just to get in to car park. The gift shop was not expensive so unheard of in these types of places so dont feel you have to rush through with your kids £10 go us a snake toy and a hatching egg, there small teddys where £6 so not bad. Have a lovely time and go see the encounter section at 12.30 worth it to see the huge tortoise and snakes and spiders. The often bring the snakes out so you can hold them. Well go have fun
Thank you so much for visiting Birdland. I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed seeing the flamingos and visiting the park with your kids. We hope you'll be back again soon. Many thanks

    Disappointing
Expensive for the size of place, penguins enclosure filthy, water dirty, signage tired and falling apart, many other enclosure (not all) in a state of disrepair and in need of weeding, clearing and general tidy up. Tortoise pools too small for the larger tortoises and snowy owls looked unhappy. Insufficient toilets for the number of people, litter including coke cans and beer bottles in the river, many of the dinosaur models need renovating as some are dirty with paint flaking off. This park could be so much better if some tiding and general housekeeping were undertaken. Such a potentially beautiful location - it could be so much more.....

Bourton on the Water - never again!
We last visited Birdland more than 20 years ago and had fond memories. Sadly, the place is not the same and we did not enjoy our visit today. The birds seemed sad in their cages. The penguin enclosure was not very exciting for the penguins. The cafe was disappointing. Nothing healthy to buy there. There were only 2 cubicles with toilets for ladies and there was a long queue. It was a busy day with plenty of tourists. What a shame that the visitors from abroad didn’t have a good experience of Bourton on the Water. The town was heaving so we got in our car and drove away to find a quieter spot for lunch.

We had visited Bourton before ,but not noticed the Birdland, park,so we came for a half day out here,OWE so interesting, birds from around the world, well kept, and fed, good displays, friendly staff,
first the king penguins, never seen close up before, and in a good water enviroment, you can see them underwater swimming ,through glss panel sides of the pool.
Lots to see here and read, great for small children to get close up views, especially at feeding time.
We had 4 hours here, looking at everything so take your time, lots of seating areas.

A really lovely morning at Birdworld. It is in a lovely setting with the river winding through the park and it was great to see some of the birds in the river with plenty of space.
My 4 year old really enjoyed searching out the Halloween themed pumpkin letters in the enclosure which added another level of interest for her. Plenty of room for the toddler to run about and a nice playground too. We enjoyed the flamingo talk and the Jurassic area too. Even during half term it wasn't over crowded. We will be back!

I had a great time here! Unfortunately ruined by rude members of staff. And seeing dead chicks in the enclosures.

I asked a member of staff a question about a specific bird that I was interested in knowing more about. To which she replied in a very rude tone.

Then behind her, was a customer and a member of staff that were bad mouthing another customer.

I had to think about what they said about me when I left after asking a question.

Lovely birds and lovely day out, but unfortunately ruined by some members of staff

This lovely park was a real treat to visit. There is a fantastic selection of birds. The enclosures were spacious and clean and all the birds looked happy and healthy. Fabulous talk about the gorgeous penguins. Really enjoyed the dinosaur walk too. This is well worth the entrance fee and great for all the family.
