The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is a 12 mile steam and diesel heritage railway in the beautiful English Cotswolds. Visit the GWR stations at Toddington (postcode GL54 5DT), Winchcombe (GL54 5LD), or Cheltenham Race Course (GL50 4SH).

Free Parking, and there is so much to do in addition to riding on the heritage trains. There are authentic Great Western Railway stations and well-stocked shops. Catering options include the buffet car on the train, the Flag & Whistle Restaurant at Toddington Station and the 1950s themed Coffee Pot cafe at Winchcombe Station. There is a model railway coach and the Discovery Coach at Winchcombe Station, whilst at Toddington there is a self-guided heritage trail, a children’s play area, a have-a-go signalbox and a locomotive yard viewing area.

This was simply Awesome. Well worth the money. To be surrounded by Old Tradition and people that couldn't do enough for you, made this an event we will definitely be returning too. The gift off Santa was fabulous, with Home Made Mince Pies and coffee, on a cold winter night, Made this experience not to be missed.

A lovely day out on a well maintained and restored train and cars. As a bonus there is a buffet car serving soft and alcoholic drinks and light meals and snacks such as bacon baps. The journey takes any 45mins each way, and passes through beautiful English countryside.

Took the train from Toddington to the Racecourse and back. My nephew loved it! Toddington station is really old fashioned looking, in a good way!

My husband and I have travelled on this preserved line a number of times and had enjoyable visits, what made this visit different was that we were taking my father in law with us. He was in a wheelchair with reduced mobility and it was our first time attempting a whole day out with him in a wheelchair. From the... More

Spent the day here enjoying the ex GWR Manor class locomotive. Please be aware that despite the signs entry at Cheltenham is actually through Cheltenham racecourse. We have to say that the staff were not as friendly as those we usually encounter on heritage railways. Winchcombe station is not in Winchcombe but Geet. At Toddington there is a large car... More

Spent a relaxing 3 hours going all the way up the line and back from Cheltenham on the last Sunday of the season, by steam and diesel- took me back to my childhood and young adulthood. Also the volunteer staff gave you a good feeling and seemed to enjoy it all

The G&WR is a fantastic example of a preserved railway with excellent locomotives (and other rolling stock) and a journey of some significant length (10 miles) in which to enjoy the experience of times gone by in the most beautiful countryside. Cannot wait until the extension to Broadway is completed. Additionally if you combine your visit with a special event... More
