The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is a 12 mile steam and diesel heritage railway in the beautiful English Cotswolds. Visit the GWR stations at Toddington (postcode GL54 5DT), Winchcombe (GL54 5LD), or Cheltenham Race Course (GL50 4SH).

Free Parking, and there is so much to do in addition to riding on the heritage trains. There are authentic Great Western Railway stations and well-stocked shops. Catering options include the buffet car on the train, the Flag & Whistle Restaurant at Toddington Station and the 1950s themed Coffee Pot cafe at Winchcombe Station. There is a model railway coach and the Discovery Coach at Winchcombe Station, whilst at Toddington there is a self-guided heritage trail, a children’s play area, a have-a-go signalbox and a locomotive yard viewing area.

This is such a lovely little railway. It will be so nice when the line goes up to Broadway. We visit this railway on a regular basis and we are never disappointed when we go. The volunteers are always friendly and it such a lovely railway to travel on whether you travel on the steam or diesel.

We took our 2 and a half year old and 8 week old on an afternoon trip on the trains from Cheltenham Racecourse to Toddington and back. None of us know a lot about Railways or engines so it was a new experience for all of us! I can safely say the staff, were fantastic. Their helpful demeanour and knowledge... More

We were staying close to Cheltenham Racetrack, and could walk to the station, which had great facilities. A real Great Western layout and colour scheme was applied consistently, and the GWR did not disappoint, with 2805 running as well as a Manor (Dinsmore). Excellent New Year's Day service.

My husband and I are volunteers at the railway so may be a bit biased! It is a lovely place to visit and work, the staff are happy, friendly people who really enjoy what they do to help the general public have a good day. It is truly amazing how much work goes into the railway, and hopefully all our... More

Even at New Year, lovely scenic views of Cotswolds and Malverns, with wonderful sound of steam loco working hard at front of comfy train. Friendly staff on board and at all stations, refreshment facilities available on train or at stations. Ideal compartments available in one coach for families at no extra cost !

We visited on 29th December during the christmas cracker gala. Our party comprised of 2 grandparents, 3 adults a 3 year old and baby. The staff were lovely and helpful indicating where to board the train with the buggy and helping cross the track at Toddington to save going over the foot bridge. The toilets were clean (although unchanged since... More

Having lived in Cheltenham for the last 12 years we have taken our time to discover one of the treats of the town. Taking our adult family and mixed in with everyone from toddlers to older people reliving the age of steam. There is just something about the magic of going to the pub on a steam train. The stations and... More

Took my nephew to the railway today and a nice trip enjoyed by both of us. We had a a ride behind the steam loco and DMU diesel, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The coaching stock were all clean and warm. Cant wait for the line to open to Broadway. See you again in 2017.

We visited with our 2 Grandchildren on 21st December to see Santa and were very pleased with the whole experience. Parking was easy, with lots of space. The staff were so welcoming and gave us clear instruction as to finding our seats, and what to expect when we got to Santa. The children were provided with crayons and paper to... More
