It is a great landmark for people interested in the medieval period. It is a large site and I recommend getting the free audio guide as it really gives you a feel for what life would have been like in the Abbey.

Couldnt spend a whole day here; but definitely worth a drive up if you're in the Winchcombe area. Is especially nice in the sunshine, and the audio tour is very informative. I think good value for money.

Located roughly midway between Cheltenham and Winchcombe in Glos, It is worthwhile making a short detour if you are travelling this way and have an hour to spare, and are interested in historic or religious ruins. Well maintained.

I'm glad I took the time to step off the trail. Very interesting. This actual site gave a good sense of the story of the former cathedral. Impressive in its day.

The remains of a once important abbey. A mobile gadget is available to inform you about the areas of the Abbey as you walk round, and gives details of events in the history of the place. The admission price is reasonable and there is a...More
