Our unique 17th Century Tunnel House Inn is set in an idyllic rural location nestled between the Cotswold villages of Coates and Tarlton, Cirencester. It is close to the source of the River Thames and sits beside the Thames and Severn Canal. From the minute you turn into our long enchanting drive through the tree's you will start to feel the ambiance of this delightful Inn. Keep going along the drive way and you will approach the Tunnel House with its breath taking views and you will instantly know you have arrived. Make your way inside, the bar has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Furnished with memorabilia from over the years, it has a unique character, guaranteed to enchant all those who visit. Roaring open log fires provide comfort and warmth in the winter months, while our large garden is a peaceful retreat in the summer, perfect for al fresco dining. Being an independent free house, you will always see a great selection of beers, wines and spirits on offer. Once at the bar, look at the ceiling where you will see the famous upside down table! We welcome everyone to come and join us and enjoy the experience. Our children's play area is great for the young ones to let off a bit of steam. Or try one of the spectacular walks in the surrounding area. And don't forget to bring the dog. We host many Wedding receptions & parties in our separate 17th Century function barn-why not have your informal celebrations here! It has a very different feel from your normal hotel function room and one that our clients love and have received so many great comments about the functions we have provided. The Tunnel House in 2014 is a friendly country pub and restaurant serving a good value imaginative menu in a relaxed environment where you can either dine in our bars or our restaurant. We always have something special on offer: when it's cold outside, keep warm by the fire while in summer you and the kids will enjoy our outdoor family seating area. It will be evident that we pride ourselves on our friendly, yet professional style and relaxed informal surroundings and hope to welcome you to The Tunnel House very soon. We invite you to join us......
