Ahhh, the Cotswolds! We had no idea what to expect from this region, nor why it was important to see, but we listened to our friend in London who said this is a MUST VISIT this part of England when on holiday in the UK. So, true to our word, we started digging around the internet searching "Cotswold" and found very interesting and appealing results. Then, finding our guide was the next mission and we must be truthful in saying we were very satisfied with our results until we found Cotswold Tours and Travel. The owner of this company, Eddie, was so helpful and engaging in helping us plan the perfect day for us – a day that soon became two full days. Eddie encouraged us to spend the evening so that we could have enough time to 'touch' the communities living there for nearly 1,000 years. We are so glad that we did!
On this beautiful Autumn Day, the train rolled into the Moreton in Marsh station and as the door opened, there was Jonnie asking, “Mr. and Mrs. Tait?” He whisked off to the car and we were off on our adventure! And wow! What a day we had. Day two with Mark was just as splendid. Both gents were wonderful, and very different in their approach and academic and experiential backgrounds. This led to our experiences being even that much more fulfilling.
We would recommend this company to anyone who truly understands tourism and appreciates culture and history. What is also wonderful about them is they will tailor the plans to meet your specifics needs and desires. There is no set schedule! The schedule is what you want it to be! It couldn't have been better for us. We laughed, learned, and came to love the region. It was, as our London friend says, "Brill."
We had two guides, one for the north and one for the south of the Cotswold region. Both gents were wonderful, and very different in their approach and academic and experiential backgrounds.
Thank you, Eddie, Katy, Jonnie and Mark! You gifted us with memories that we will cherish for a lifetime! We surely will refer you to anyone venturing to the UK.
Cheers and Happy Holidays!
