What struck me was the little door that had been overshadowed by the two trees on its side. It is like a page out from a fantasy storybook. The stainglass inside were magnificent. This time of year, there were also many different christmas trees on...More

One of the doorways is a wonderful feature, in that it is between two old trees. Some thing out of, say, Lord of the rings. Inside lovingly looked after and welcoming. There is a place to sit and reflect, with a candle stand as well....More

Don’t miss the beautiful stained glass window that dates back to the 1400’s. Also, take time to walk around the cemetery and notice the names and dates on the tombstones. Very interesting!

This village is charming and this church is a wonderful place to absorb the serenity of the place. Of course, there is the famous door...which really is something to see. But, even better, there are several quiet corners inside the church to contemplate how special...More

What a wonderful church, the volunteers were only too happy to pass in the history and make you feel welcome even to the extent of ensuring that you saw the Yew trees from Tolkien era Certainly worth a visit

Stoe-on-the-Wold is a delightful little village with loads of quirky historic buildings including St Edward's church and its renown rear entrance door. The village has great local cheese, produce and nick knack shops. Great example of a traditional village.
