Gallery Pangolin is a 'must-see' on any tour of the Cotswolds. Tucked away in the village of Chalford on the slopes of the escarpment is one of Gloucestershire's best-kept secrets. On what was once a Victorian industrial site at the heart of the Golden Valley, Gallery Pangolin is one of the few galleries to specialise in sculpture and related drawings and is open to visitors 6 days a week.

We are located on Chalford Industrial Estate on the A419 in between Stroud and Cirencester.

Great range of works on display in superb environment right next to the foundry which makes some of the pieces. The assistant managing the exhibits was friendly, helpful and not at all like the usual stuffy staff at any artistic venue. Took two teenagers with the attention span of a Knat who were suffering withdrawal of no I phone in... More

A small gallery with some interesting pieces but not sufficient to extand a stay. Coudl benefit from a greater variety of exhibitors, better signage and easier access.

The Pangalon puts on exhibitions frequently at present it is celebrating 25 years of existence and has a silver exhibition. It is fascinating seeing the talented workouts filling mouldy with molten metals ,finishing and buffing sculptures. It has cast sculptures by Lynn Chadwick a superb sculptor and he was a local in fact the owners started out in life working for him... Pangolin is my favourite gallery in the Cotswolds. A regularly-changing programme of exhibitions is a big draw as is the range of artists whose works are on display. I have become a big fan of Jon Buck whose work is cast at Pangolin: his very tactile pieces range from miniature to enormous and I love the constant evolution of his... More

This small gallery has excellent exhibitions by very well known sculptors. It belongs to the foundry that has made works by Lynn Chadwick and Damien Hirst among other notables. You can often see work by famous sculptors outside the building awaiting transport to other exhibitions. It now has a sister gallery in London which seems to show some of the... More

This hidden gallery is well worth a visit. You can find it round the back of the foundry. It has high prices but quality sculptures.

We loved the modern sculpture and had slight difficulty in finding the site, but it was well worth the meander around the Cotswold valley !

I came across the Foundry on a small trading estate in Chalford and just chatting with someone quite unconnected was surprised to be told there was a gallery there. The foundry does amazing work for the who's who of sculpture and the work in the gallery is exceptional. I've no idea if its open all the time, no one seemed... More

Though this gallery is small, I love going here. The unique point of this gallery is that it is attached to Pangolin Editions who are Europe's leading sculpture foundry. The monumental Damien Hirst, Lynn Chadwick, Sarah Lucas sculpture you saw (the list goes on) was probably produced here. As jconline says, "check what is on before you go". And visit often,... More

It's difficult to review a gallery as it is mostly about the art that's on show inside it. But it is a small gallery that's out on its own at the back of the industrial estate, and the only way in is via a slow lift (though full marks for wheelchair accessibility). I could easily have looked around for just... More
