This was an unplanned visit...we just popped in on passing. Small but interesting museum with lots of police uniforms, truncheons and handcuffs on display. So thought provoking looking at the old photos and ledgers as well as reading about policemen who had served and died in the world wars. It was good to be able to look through a cell... More

This is how museums used to be; interesting displays, lovingly put together without an interactive doo-dah in sight. An added bonus is that it is free!

We just popped in while passing, and found it delightful. It is small but interesting, and much thought has gone into the curating. The constant snoring from the cells amused me highly.

Visited today and found it really interesting. There's a selection of police uniforms and staves along with handcuffs and other things used back in the day. It's free but they ask for a donation to help with the upkeep of it.

Came across the museum by chance whilst walking around Tetbury. What a find with free entry, although donations are welcomed! A small museum but there are many interesting exhibits on display. We noticed there were many things for children to do, so look forward to going back again with our grandchildren. We need to go to see who is sitting... More

Many thanks for taking the time to review the museum, and for such a great one too. At present we have only one volunteer (me) to do all the work - so if you're local and fancy helping out then do get in touch. More

Worth a quick look if you are interested in this sort of thing. Some interesting things to look at, liked the 'photofit' display and 'Fred sleeping it off in his cell' Amazing collection of handcuffs. Best of all......it's free

Interesting and well presented. 20 minutes would be enough time for most visitors (perhaps less for children), but if you are keen on displays of handcuffs allow a lot longer..... Admission is free.

Pleasantly surprised with the contents and interesting information available in this local museum. It cover more than simply the town of Tetbury and imagination has been used in the displays. There is not a curator but an informative DVD is continually played. Worth popping in if in the area, allow about an hour tops for the visit.

Glad you enjoyed your visit. We have no paid staff and currently only one volunteer - that's me the Honorary Curator. So its most likely there'll be no one around which is why we have the introductory video. More are planned. More

Whilst small this is definitely worth a visit if you are nearby. I was almost put of by the reviews that mentioned the drunkard in the cell and the courtroom scene. However, these have been done really well and are not tacky, they definitely help to capture the era when the prison and courtroom were in use. Seeing some of... More
