What an amazing venue to do for a paranormal investigation! SO much energy and history there. My absolute favourite part was actually funny enough we were on our break and I was sitting at the table in John Humphrey's part of the house having a few salt and vinegar crisps and I for some reason I felt like there was some energy around me. So like most investigators do I picked up one of our K2 metres and asked if John liked salt and vinegar crisps and is that why I felt someone around me and the metre went all the way to red! So I decided I might as well record in case we got any other responses and omg! We had almost a 8 minute conversation with the most intelligent responses ever! It was an absolute pleasure to speak with him as I always wished I could have met him while he was still alive but now I truly can say I have met him in spirit! I have the full video and I would love to send it to Caroline and hope maybe she will see this and contact me so I can send it over to her. Your father was an amazing man Caroline and we learned so much about his amazing life that night. xxx

Wow, everything about this place was amazing. We went on a paranormal investigation and to be honest after doing the research and watching some vids I was very concerned that I had bitten off more than I could chew, and when we arrived that seemed to be confirmed. The place was so daunting to look at and extremely creepy. So onto the actual investigation.. My wife captured a face of a woman in a mirror in the attic, and a young child in "the den". My daughter captured a class A EVP it said "put that down" just as she put a bit of equipment on a bed in the "Bishops room". They both saw a dark shadow cross a doorway but this was not documented. We had no response from the couple of spirit board sessions we carried out. And only had "cat balls" go off on 1 or 2 occasions. So is the place haunted? 100% yes without a doubt, did we see demons, incubus, monks, witches or cavaliers all over the place? absolutely not. But the experience and the atmosphere was more than worth the 6 hour trip it was a brilliant night. Be warned it is extremely icy cold in the venue and at times very hazardous moving around the building. Oh, and by the way did I witness anything? absolutely nothing not a sight or sound and for that I'm actually grateful because although I didn't witness anything it's 100% guaranteed if and when you do witness anything it will be evil beyond imagination.

this place has been on our ghost hunting calendar for a a longtime although we had a good night it's not been up there with the best the building itself has a lot of character and is indeed very old some parts of the building or inaccessible and some parts need to be inaccessible there are still some spirits that reside in the building but speaking to a guest who had been many years previously the atmosphere wasn't as good the upside to the trip was after a long drive to get there there's a very good fish and chip shop in the village and it's well worth a visit
