Traditional seaside attraction a bit run down

This pier and surrounding area contains an arcade and other traditional seaside entertainments. It's a bit run down but that is part of its appeal.

We only went to the amusements for a bit of fun but only stayed 20 minutes.I haven't been here years but forgot how noisy it is. All the machines and flashing lights made me realise I'm too old for it now.

Clarence pier and amusement park is a shadow of what it used to be. Not many rides and attractions, and there is an order of fast food outlets.

All the best arcades (take cash out before you go as their machines charge), fresh doughnuts and sweets, a fairground and fish & chips, all on the seafront.. Common behind it. Perfec!

Perfect location, we were on a long walk along the coast and this was a great stop off, right on the water's edge

One reason we came here was so the kids and my Mrs can have a go on the slots. It was loud as you would expect but not too busy as it was mid afternoon. There are plenty of those tubs that you can use to put your coppers in to save having a horrid smell on your hands afterwards.... More

Popped in here during a walk along Southsea sea front. Numerous "fairground" rides on the pier, mainly geared towards kids. Tokens are 50p each and each ride charges a number of tokens per ride. For example, the balloon ride was 3 tokens. Plenty of classic 2p slot machines as well as many others. Mini golf and gift / fairground shops... More

I didn't "visit" it I walked through it to get to Portsmouth Old Town. It was dirty, and tacky in the same way these sort of places were in the 70/80's. They were fine in their day but society has moved on places like this should do the same.
