Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Port Solent is a great place for a night out. Free parking, plenty of restaurants (something for most), some bars, a few shops (Snow & Rock is a fave) and a very decent cinema. Cinema is rarely busy during the week but more lively at the weekend. We took in the 1917 movie which is an excellent watch.

Plus in the summer it’s nice to stroll around the marina, have a drink and watch the boats.

Very much overpriced for poorly cooked food.
Lobster wasn't too bad but I'm not quite sure how a burger can be served undercooked in this day and age. I won't be returning there, the staff were very nice but the chef shouldn't be calling himself a chef I know that much.
What makes it worse is that you can relate to small errors happening in kitchens in a busy environment but it was empty.

We had two meals overlooking the boats. Can imagine this being great spot in warmer weather. It was bitter cold over our weekend visit. Liked free car parking. Cinema and few shops but main attraction restaurants. Very busy.

We visited here for a birthday lunch at one of the restaurants. It is really convenient with free parking and not too busy. It is a short and nice stroll from the car park. For the less abled (elderly), there are lifts readily available so that is really handy for them to get between the floors without having to negotiate the stairs.

The place had a nice vibe. With many restaurants with seating areas overlooking the marina, for someone that is not local to the area, for a moment you can imagine being on holiday in a different country. Until the weather turns then you remember you are in the UK.

There is also a cinema and a large outdoor type shop (Go Outdoors) that sell outdoor gear and trainers.

One most important thing of all, it is dog friendly. What more could you ask for.

We had a nice time and would return.

A touch of the Mediterranean on the south coast of England it’s always great to walk around the marina at Port Solent and browse the shops and maybe a drink or two. Plenty of free parking and lots of fab boats to admire. Beautiful sunny day today in glorious sunshine helps too. Well worth a visit.

One of the few places with plenty of safe room to stroll around. Masses of free parking, grass and swings for the kids to play on. Wide walkways to allow spaced passing. Great views and plenty to browse.

Went to Ol Sol Mio Italian restaurant. A birthday treat with husband. Fabulous meal, tasty, well presented and hot. Staff very attentive and pleasant. We're booking again with friends in 2 weeks time as it was so good. If you want a bit more 'class' with white table cloths , wine glasses on table and lovely background music, this is the place to be.

I am a regular visitor to The Alec Rose Weatherspoon at Port Solent. What I don't understand is how people get jobs as chefs when they dish up food which is so badly burnt they are lucky not to have started a fire in the kitchen. I have come up with a tip for everyone, take a look down the delivery area before going in for breakfast, if you see loads of smoke bellowing out forget it.

What a scenic place to have a walk around the harbour. It was a beautiful day and very interesting looking at the different boats and the apartments/houses overlooking the waterside. There is free parking and a good shopping complex there. We went to the cinema to watch the new James Bond film and then had a meal at the Sir Alec Rose. My partner also got a pair of boots on sale at the Pavers shop. That’s what I call a happy day.
