- jo hCorby, United Kingdom294 contributionsA few expensive shops and chain restaurantsMy parents recommended we take a trip here when we moved to the area. They failed to mention it was about 12 years since they visited! There is a nice walk alongside the marina, lots of chain restaurants which were all empty, and a few expensive sporty type shops and a cinema. We parked, walked for about 20 minutes, not enticed by the empty restaurants charging full price (a couple of set lunch menus may have appealed a little more) then left and went to Gunwharf Quays, a much nicer experience.Visited September 2022Written 31 December 2022
- Gaynor M4 contributionsBest food in a Wetherspoons ever!We came off the ferry and parked up here for some food - we both had Fish and Chips which was excellent! The best we have had from any Wetherspoons we have visited previously! Loved it so much we came back for breakfast before continuing our journey and again - the food was amazing! All fresh, piping hot and felt home cooked! Loved the setting over the marina too! Thank you we will be back!Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 March 2023

It’s a lovely looking marina that’s for sure: but what let’s it down is just how many restaurants there are. Getting some high end fashion or more *popular* stores since the Only shops are essentially for old people. 🤷♀️

Is there a wheelchair and user friendly accessible hotel near the marina for my brother to use prior to going on the disabled friendly yacht next day.

Although I am not a wheelchair user I have seen accessible rooms and devices at the premier inn. This is 10 minutes from Port Solent. If you want a higher star the Marriott provides similar rooms.

Hi, Is like to know how easy is it to park?

Hi judiclark, there are over 800 spaces to park so there shouldn't be an issue.

There are many hotels and b & b in the southampton area for an overnight stay and also a plethera of restaurants. You may wish to try Jamie Olivers which is excellent and not overly expensive. Have a good crossing. I am flying to Perpignan on 23rd June. Bon Voyage!

Sorry for late reply but cannot answer question as I do not have a motor home but I am sure if you contact Port Solent they will help.
