Very nice historic building, only minutes from shopping centre and ferries. Take a walk off the main routes and you get to see a different Southampton.

It is the oldest building in Southampton and founded in 1070. It is the only church still in use from the 5 churches inside the walled city.

St. Michael's Church, reported as the oldest building in Southampton, was built by the Normans in the 11 th century and the architectural alterations that occurred through-out history and various conquests is awe inspiring and a must see when visiting the old town. There is so much to see and learn in this historic building so, to fully appreciate it... More

I was here on Sunday and enjoyed a lovely service here. People are very friendly and welcoming. Service had all the bells and whistles of a large Church and very relaxing and enlightening.

This church really is a gem, tucked away from the main street in a residential area of the Old Town. The star attraction of the church is the massive C12 black Tournai marble font with its intricate carvings. There are other similar fonts in Winchester and Lincoln cathedrals but how did it end up in this modest church? Fine stained... More

We walked through the old Southampton and passed by this church. It is worthwhile to have a look inside. A leaflet (or the translation in maybe 15 different languages) is available for a self-guided tour of the church. Don´t miss the beautiful black marble baptismal font!

A walking tour of Southampton brought us to this church. Since it was a Sunday, the morning service was in session when we first arrived. However, we returned a couple of hours later and were welcomed by locals. A lovely and welcome place to visit.

Walking distance from the cruise port this Norman era church is the oldest surviving building in Southampton, and the only inner-city parish church to have survived the 1940's air raids. There are traditional Book of Common prayer services every Sunday. We were welcomed and made to feel very much at home for the service.

We visited the Tudor House in the Autumn, tried to visit the church, but it was shut. On a lovely Spring day we decided to return to the Tudor property for lunch in the garden, and make a further attempt to visit the Church, but again it was closed, hence the rating. Opening times clarification on line was hard to... More
