Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Brickworks Escape Room experience was so much fun. A varied team made up of friends and family all absolutely loved the challenge which did make us work together and pool our resources. We all would thoroughly recommend this experience. Thank you Jonathan our amazing Games Master. We will be back for your up and coming new escape.

Just done the escape rooms at Bursledon Brickworks, one of the best escape rooms we have ever done. We escaped with only minutes to spare. Bursledon Brickworks is an awesome place to have this escape rooms, only adding to the atmosphere. Brilliant hour of fun and testing of the brain

Great fun! The venue is not your average escape room but a beautiful brickworks which adds to the mystery and the history is cleverly baked into the game. Bought this for my 15 year olds birthday with 4 of her friends and they loved it. Jae was a brilliant hostess, we’d totally recommend.

Was in a great setting in bursledon brickworks. Would highly recommend. Makes a change from the ordinary ones it had a story to it and the person who gave instruction was part of the story in costume and character.

We did the Brickworks Escape Room at Bursledon Brickworks - it was so much fun! The puzzles were very well thought out and taxed our poor brains! The brickworks theming/inclusion was brilliant and the gentleman who hosted it was dressed the part and was in character.. it was great, highly recommended!

I appreciate what Torchlight Tours tried to do, but they did not succeed. The acting was poor and Charles dickens quotes were misquoted or poorly executed. We passed actors as we walked through the building who were rushing to or from the next tour, so no element of mystery on what was to come. The “Interactive game”. was cringy. The group dance was chaotic & rushed. Half way through through, the dance caller turned on quiet music as an after thought, so no ambience. And stansted house was barely decorated for Xmas, so no Christmas Carol context. In one room as Dickens financee poorly acted her way through her tail of woe, she was flanked by the most enormous flat screen TV I have ever seen. Comedy? Carol singing at the end SO AWKWARD - dig me a hole. I love group participation, but it was SO poorly executed. I wanted it to all stop (& to have a refund!!) Needs a lot more planning, better actors, props and ambience. Only high point was tiny, tasty mince pie at the end. An expensive let down. I would not recommend.

We had an amazing evening at Stanstead House, Christmas carol.
It was so much fun, the audience participation was great.
The characters were so believable, Charles Dickens’s, wife, truly wonderful.
So glad we went.
