About
We’re a garden centre in Mayfield Park in Southampton, and we aim to bring about positive change for people struggling with their mental health. Every penny we make from plant sales is ploughed back into helping people with mental health issues. We're a social enterprise and a subsiduary of Solent Mind. We stock a full range of plants for your home and garden. According to season, we have luscious bedding plants, hardy perennials, roses, climbers, herbs, seeds and bulbs, beautiful house plants to aid your wellbeing and many associated plants and products for sale. If you’re looking for something in particular, we may be able to order it for you. There is a small, independent fruit and veg shop on site as well as craft and gift shops. Mayfield Nurseries Café is a perfect spot to unwind with coffee and cake after a stroll through the beautiful grounds of Mayfield Park – and dogs are welcome on leads!

    Always a pleasure to visit the Nursery
    The nursery is beautifully laid out and there are plenty of gardeners on hand to give help and advice. Plants were in very good condtion (patio plants for the summer just in). Lovely laid-back atmosphere and reasonable prices. Everyone seemed to enjoy working there. Always a pleasure to visit.

    Recently found this nursery( & cafe ) and have been very pleased with quality & price of the plants I have purchased. The cafe serves wonderful cakes & savouries. Lovely setting & staff.We meet there fairly regularly.Would definitely recommend a visit 🙂

    A little paradise
    A great selection of plants, indoor and outdoor, fruit and veg and flowers and trees and more. Good value products and everything is clearly well looked after by the employees and volunteers. It's quite easy to get around, I noticed the paths were kept clear of hazards and people were using mobility scooters etc so it is good for accessibility, and has accessible toilets too. A lovely uplifting atmosphere, and it was so good to see the opportunities for people to participate in gardening workshops for mental health. The staff were very pleasant and easy to talk to, and the cafe had good prices although I didn't look at food so can't comment on that. Really glad a place like this exists to facilitate a good time for so many people. Thank you.

    I LOVE this nursery and cafe. I love to support the charity and always feel calm and relaxed. Cakes are delicious and the plants are fantastic quality and prices. I go every opportunity and would highly recommend.

    What an incredible place to visit. The plants are top quality, the cafe is superb and the people are lovely. All topped off by the dogs that call it home. Also great to know that supporting Mayfield is also supporting local mental health services.

It’s not expensive and staff are very attentive, for instance…I wanted a particular plant and after checking her computer she walked with me to get it, chatting merrily along the way! Amazing place I’m definitely going again.

A good place to visit.

Good food good coffee and cakes.I enjoy coming on a Friday to the Digital Skills drop in. I have bought a number of plants here and they have been good quality.

A little surprise around every corner

Incredible visit…you have to go there to believe it as there is a little surprise around every corner. Be prepared to walk from the club which is a little way down the drive but do this through the gardens on the right as you head towards the garden centre as it’s so pretty. It’s not expensive and staff are very attentive, for instance…I wanted a particular plant and after checking her computer she walked with me to get it, chatting merrily along the way! Amazing place I’m definitely going again.

Brilliant cakes! Amazing snacks and an excellent Nursery…..There’s even a dog grooming parlour too! They do so much for the community including Digital Skills for those folks who want to get to grips with their digital devices…Well Being Groups…Men’s Groups….Dementia Groups….It’s a brilliant place and worth checking out

We have been visiting Mayfield Nurseries for over 2 years Mike, his staff and volunteers do an amazing job and are very helpful and knowledgeable the Cafe serves the best cake.

A great place for tea/coffee and fabulous snacks/cakes.
The staff are always helpful and very friendly.
They also have an abundance of lovely plants.

Cake!!!

We love Mayfield Nurseries... from the resident robins (by the cafes outdoor seating), to the abundance of great value plants.

Oh, and the cake is amazing. We actually had our son's birthday cake made by the lady who supplies the cafe.

The fact that the money we spend is used to help people with dementia and mental health disorders is the 'icing on the cake', (so to speak!)

Wonderful nursery experience

We have been buying our plants from Mayfield for several years now; there is always a great variety of well grown, wonderful plants.
We have purchased shrubs, perennials, hanging basket and patio pot plants. I can honestly say we have never had anything that has not been a great success.
The staff are friendly, they will always do there upmost to help.
If you fancy a scrumptious piece of cake and a nice cuppa; I would recommend the coffee shop, again the staff are always happy to help.
