About
A very warm welcome to Hampshire Wine School - an independent wine education company, not affiliated to any wine merchants or retailers. We run fun Wine, Champagne, Beer, Port, Gin & Tonic and Whisky Tastings and Wine & Food Pairing Courses in HAMPSHIRE (with venues in Southampton and Winchester) and NOW in DORSET (in Poole) for people who enjoy wine and would like to learn more about it. We also run professional staff training, corporate evenings, team building days and fun private events, as well as hen parties and stag dos. We attended the Introduction to French Reds course, although there are a huge range of different options for different tastes and interests.
Our group was a mix of ages, nationalities and wine knowledge, but everyone was made to feel welcome and involved.
Our teacher, Cecile, was knowledgeable but kept the evening light and entertaining, never taking the tasting too seriously which made people feel comfortable and involved.
I'd really recommend one of her evenings for anyone with an interest in wine. Our group included individuals, friends and couples so think anyone would be able to attend and learn a lot.
We're definitely planning on going again at some stage!

We held our second wine tasting evening with Cecile this week and as with the first time, it was absolutely brilliant. Cecile is super friendly, entertaining and so knowledgeable. Everybody loved the experience and we received only positive feedback from our clients. We've already booked her again for May. Cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Cecile!

We booked Cecile for a virtual corporate food and wine pairing. There were 10 guests.
The food and wine was delivered from Mauls in Salisbury and Zoom licences were emailed to all the guests in advance.
The evening was a great success - Cecile is lively, engaging and fun. Most importantly she also knows her stuff and even some of the guests with a good level of wine knowledge learned something.
The food and wine pack was great and pairing the two wines with four different cheeses was a real eye opener.
Feedback from our guests has been fantastic and, in a period where we can't entertain clients in person, this was a great event.

Been to a few of Cecile's online tastings and boy was I surprised how much I learnt. They're super fun and Cecile makes sure they're kept upbeat and now choosing a wine has become a lot easier, certainly when it comes to a Sauvignon Blanc or Spanish wines, looking forward to going to more so I've got a better understanding about English sparkling wines. Easily the best value tenner I've spent recently

Attended one of Cecile's wine tasting evenings last night, my first time. Thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt an amazing amount. Cecile is a wonderful speaker and it is marvellous to listen to someone talk on a subject about which they are very excited and incredibly knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back for more.

Had a fabulous time on the Hampshire Wine School online tasting session. This weeks selections were from Argentina a white Torrontes and a sumptuos Malbec.
Cecile is a very friendly larger than life character who knows so much about wine, wine regions, wine producers. Her knowledge of food and wine pairings is excellent.
My wife and I tasted a Torrontes for the first time, it was delicious. These sessions give you the opportunity to try wines you've never tasted and/or enables you to taste top quality wines without the pricetags attached. Thoroughly recommended. Just wanted to add Im not technically minded but it was easy to join. For anyone remotely interested in wine this is a great inexpensive fun way to start.

I would really recommend the 8 week wine course. Cecile’s enthusiasm is infectious, and her knowledge is amazing. Without even thinking I’m checking bottles for things Cecile has said and enjoying buying bottles I might not have before.
Her wine and food pairing advice is so useful and really does make such a difference!
What I also love is that as long as you give appropriate notice, if you can’t make a week on the course, you can have a credit for another time.

Friends who live in the Southampton area mentioned the Hampshire Wine School online sessions to us. We live in Kent
We attended 'Cecile's Virtual Cheese and Wine Pairing Tasting' on Saturday 9th May. Our first virtual wine tasting session and it was superb.
Cecile is both very knowledgable and entertaining. We have already booked three more sessions.

We attended the Italian food and wine tasting earlier this month and it’s the 5th course we’ve attended with Hampshire wine school. This, like all the others, was excellent! A lot of fun but also informative, teaching us new things and a better appreciation of wine and wine pairing. Cecile’s bubbly personality really creates a relaxed atmosphere and one we really enjoy - Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic time at Cécile's French Wine and Cheese Pairing evening. Over the course of the evening she delivered on her promise to challenge and surpass our expectations, all while keeping things fun and informative. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to better their understanding of wine, or simply enjoy this delicious experience!

Hi Lesley,
Thank you for your interest in the Hampshire Wine School and for your enquiry about our tastings.
Our Saturday Wine Course with lunch (11am-4pm) will include the following:
- 11 wines to taste
- 1 glass of champagne upon arrival
- 2-course lunch prepared by our venue: 1 main course (at least 3 choices between a meat, fish and vegetarian dish) and 1 dessert (at least 3 choices, of which 1 cheese plate). Please find below our latest menu from St James Tavern for our Saturday Wine Course held there on 09/11/19.
All for £95 per person. We run 1 a month, either in Southampton or in Winchester. Please visit our website for more information and online bookings.
