Comprehensive coverage of the regiments over their history, well presented. The Battle of Waterloo diorama was amazing, but a little simplistic for my husband who has more knowledge than me, but I found looking at the layout with the commentary was really helpful. Very friendly staff.

What an amazing place. So full of information about the regiments, deployments to current day- if you love history this is the place for you. If you would like to learn about history this is a place for you. All the staff are really knowledgeable. A lovely couple of hours

Having visited so many military museums here and abroad I consider myself quite experienced at knowing what is an outstanding museum and this is one of them! So much to see and so well laid out and with something to appeal to everyone. We gift aided and so have a yearly ticket, we have been 3 times and still need to go back again! The volunteers here are very helpful and friendly .There is also a very small part as you go in which is free and is the Rifles today and apparently this is a separate museum, run by separate staff! I assume this is more of a recruiting area.

Visited on a Saturday in April. Had a fantastic guided tour from Will, a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. There's lots to see in terms of information and historical artefacts. The Waterloo diorama is presented brilliantly. This museum is much better quality than the National Army Museum in London. If you can only visit one museum in Winchester - make it this one!

A very enjoyable and interesting couple of hours. Some unusual weaponry on display and fascinating dioramas. I wish I could have stayed longer. Hopefully we can come back again soon. (Didn't take any photographs as I was too engrossed with it).

What a lovely place to visit, the museum shows the history of the Royal Green Jackets when they were formed from 3 regiments and of the history of those regiments. A fascinating day with great exhibits, the Waterloo model is brilliant and of course being able to handle a brown Bess and a baker rifle was great. Visit you won’t regret it.

Excellent museum - Waterloo diorama is spectacular. Probably the best of the Winchester Military museum's and certainly in the top 3 across others I have visited over the years. Thoroughly recommend as a 'must visit' if you are in the area.

An interesting museum which makes you think! The display of medals was stunning, the diorama brought the battle of Waterloo to life, and the passage through history leaves you pondering on the bravery and sacrifice of so many. We received a lovely welcome from an obviously forces-devotee.

Totally absorbing visit to this wonderful museum. Well set out with a good mix of the military and the personal. Worth going just to see the diorama of the Battle of Waterloo and the hundreds of medals on display. Many thanks to Will and Pete for making it such an enjoyable afternoon.
