Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went to an evening concert. The bar had an extremely limited selection in any event, which was compounded by the fact that they had no bitter and only two out of the three Red Cat beers that they were actually advertising. Nor did they have the only sensible looking dry white wine (Gren) from an extremely limited selection. Should we be wasting public money on such a hapless venue? Some leg room in the Performance Hall would have been nice too!

live in Winchester, it's this place. What a treat. The staff are friendly and incredibly helpful. They have a cafe, two exhibition areas, regular LP and book sales and books. Loads and loads of books (plus computers, CDs, etc etc). A really good library even though it's called a discovery centre.

As a family we enjoy a trip to the library. The holidays see them provide Activities for children that are often free.
There are also a variety of regular class that you can attend, someof which are free.

The Sistine Chapel exhibition consists of photographs of Michelangelo's masterpiece - the ceiling and the Last Judgement altarpiece. I think it's helpful if you know the work because you can then appreciate the extraordinary clarity of these images, and get as close to them as the artist did himself when he created them. It's unusual to have to pay for an exhibition at the Discovery Centre, but it is worth it, especially as there are 3 different displays, two in the WDC and one in the Great Hall. I just wish you could buy a season ticket.

I go to the Discovery Centre regularly to join a group of knitters. Having been bought up in Africa, where we did not need woolies to keep us warm, I am not very good, but there is plenty of help here. The coffee in the cafe is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.

Visited to see the Turner and the Sun exhibition. Winchester has done well to get together all these magnificent paintings by Turner, it is a magnificent exhibition.

The old library was enhanced by making it into a 'Discovery Centre'. Not only do you have access to an extensive number of books and very helpful, knowledgeable staff, but there always seems to be other things happening here. Keep an eye out for visiting exhibitions which are usually worth a visit, depending on your interests, and for the various dance or drama activities in one of the rooms. This facility has shown the best of how to keep a library alive in the modern age.

The library holds a wide range of books and you are able to order in ones you might like to read. Often exhibitions going on and shows and talks so check out the website. Small cafe area and disabled access .
