I attended a regency ball at Avington Park. It was one of the best costume balls, sweet and elegant. Most of the guests dressed up in regency attires. Hampshire Regency Dancers did performance and invited guests to dance together. The setting was lovely though the dance space was a bit small. It felt like a home party. Dinner was surprisingly good. Our event was restricted to downstairs area. It made me wonder what other parts might look like. It was a night as if we were in a movie. A night to remember.

We are delighted you had such a wonderful time at the Regency Ball. Thank you for your kind words, we are so pleased it felt like a home party and if you were in a movie. Such a fun evening, enjoyed by all.

Avington is set In beautiful grounds. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed our cream tea in the sun. They were able to accommodate my husbands mobility scooter, so we had a lovely afternoon

Very good tour at this historic country house. We arrived an hour before general tour admissions but were allowed to join a pre booked Groupon tour to save us waiting around. Beautiful grounds and surrounding area. The tea is a little over priced for what is on offer and they definitely need more helpers.

Like many I visited via the Groupon offer but was so impressed I would urge anyone to visit, offer or not. The House and grounds are stunning both inside and out and the history fascinating for any history buff. The Tour Guide was brilliant; incredibly knowledgeable and had a wonderful enthusiasm and love of the House which shone through her presentation. The comments pertaining to the small portions of jam, cream and butter whilst true should not detract in any way from the visit (and actually are spot on portion size wise with no waste). Tea was fabulous served in a wonderfully eclectic tea pot and Bone China Tea cup and saucer. Thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely make a return visit.

My partner and I have just got home from a lovely tour of the house plus a lovely cream tea in the conservatory. Beautiful house with stunning rooms and the staff are really lovely. Roland, our guide was so informative and knew everything about the house's history.
We went with a Groupon voucher at £20 for two. Marvellous value. Thank you everyone who made our visit so enjoyable.

You really need your own transport to get here. It’s in lovely countryside about a 20 min drive from Winchester. It’s only open certain days and times so check out their website. We did the 3.30 pm tour which took about an hour which was very interesting. The house and garden was open for tours from 2 pm. You can walk in the gardens and grounds on your own when the house is open and visit the church as well. There is a nice tea room which you can go in even if you don’t do the house tour.

I am so glad you enjoyed the afternoon. The parkland that the house sits in is very special, and hasn't altered for 200 years. An amazing thought when you think how much changed in that time!

Lovely hidden gem of a house with lots of history.
Our guide was very friendly and informative.
Rooms viewed : The main hall, the drawing room, the staircase, the ballroom, the red drawing room and the library.
There is no access to any other rooms as there is a family in residence together with apartments which are rented out.
Visit ends in one of the conservatories which leads to a tiny tea house with inside & outside seating.
Lovely grounds with the crystal clear Itchen River flowing through.
Short jaunt to St Mary's Church. Small and Georgian with "box pews made from mahogany taken from a Spanish Galleon in the Armada".
We spent a pleasant few hours here.

You can only visit by arrangement. There are so many treasures eg Mary Queen of Scots items, references to the slave owning past of ancestors, really fascinating stuff. Gardens also beautiful. Church with pew collections depending on your status in the village! Amazing.
