Don't be fooled by the small size of the venue downstairs bar, upstairs there's a fabulous private room perfect for a Christmas Party. We held a work party of 21 up there. Excellent food and service at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!
By chance I called into the St James Tavern whilst in Winchester.
I found this a great cosy pub with good food , beer and atmosphere.
The young staff team were very polite and helpful.

Food is alright, but the wait makes it worth looking elsewhere. The staff walks around and do their stuff while you can wait up to 45 minutes, no apologies no mention on the delay. A bit disappointing.
