A very warm welcome to Hampshire Wine School - an independent wine education company, not affiliated to any wine merchants or retailers. We run Wine, Champagne, Beer, Port, Gin, Rum and Whisky Tastings and Wine & Food Pairing Courses in Southampton and Winchester for people who enjoy wine and would like to learn more about it. We also run professional staff training, corporate evenings, team building days and fun private events, as well as hen parties and stag dos. This was our first time at the Hampshire Wine School hosted at the St James' Tavern. A great evening was had where we took advantage of Cecile's immense depth of wine and wine region knowledge, made new friends and drank an interesting variety of Bordeaux blend wine from around the old and new world. I strongly recommend it.

Cecile is very informed about all things wine. She is so friendly and funny as well. I enjoyed her workshops and learnt a lot. I can definitely recommend the ones I attended: `The Very, Very, Very Old World of Wine` and `Cheese & Wine Pairing Workshop` She has some very original workshops such as these but also classic wine workshops. The content and her engaging delivery style are perfect. Just the venue in Winchester is a bit too cramped for the big crowd. In a more spacious and airy venue, I would enjoy the workshops even more. Had a really fun and enjoyable evening at Quob Park, enjoying a fish and chips and wine pairing workshop, hosted by the inimitable Cecile. Really interesting choices, lots of knowledge and experiences shared, and a great deal of fun and laughter was had by all. Really good, friendly group as well, which always helps to make the evening even better. The time flew by. Thanks Cecile, we had a great time and I'll never look at my fish supper in the same way again.

Another great evening with Cecile! This time we did wine and crisp pairing. There were some great pairings and interesting flavours that took us back to when we were kids, (the crisps not the wine). Great wine, great food and great company. Thanks Cecile!

We booked the Italian food and wine tasting evening as something new to try for our anniversary. We had never been to a wine tasting before so had no idea what to expect. We had a fabulous night ! Cecile is friendly, funny, warm and so much fun. Personally I have never drunk red wine, but after Saturday night, I will ! Book a tasting! You will have a blast. Thank you for a perfect anniversary evening ! ❤️

Who knew School could be this fun?!
Fantastic course, informative, relaxed and a great way to spend an evening.
Cécile’s knowledge is incredible which she shares with great humour and while delicious wines are enjoyed by all.
Sad to be coming towards the end of an 8 week world of wine course but fortunately there are lots more of courses to enjoy. Bring on the Malbecs!

I went to the gin & tonic & garnish pairing workshop. Cecile brings the room to life even before the gin kicks in! Great to learn about the different pairings and to give things a go. Great Sat night fun.

I am attending the 8 week course world od wine by country. I had already 3 sessions and I have to admit that this course is absolutely great. Cécile is very knowledgeable and funny and she has a great sense of humour. She has an amazing choice of delicious wines every week for us. I am looking forward to the next session with Cécile.

I am into week 3 of the eight week wine course and it is a different experience every week. I am amazed at how Cecile packs so much information and fun into just two hours! An excellent teacher. Cecile should have her own tv show!

The tastings are usually 7pm to 9pm. They run at various venues in Southampton and Winchester. You do need to book. If you check the website there is a list of tastings and availability.
