We went to Cécile's Wines of the World course at the Dolphin Hotel in Southampton. It was great fun and full of information and tips. We tasted 6 white wines in the morning (including a glass of champagne on arrival), and 6 reds in the afternoon, with lunch in the middle. In between tasting Cécile told us about which countries produce which types of wine, what gives wines their tastes, what to look out for and lots more. She is very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and funny. Lunch was a cold spread bought in because the hotel kitchen is currently closed, but served in the dining room. It was good and the portions were very generous. Covid safeguards were followed at all times and it felt safe. We would highly recommend and will go again to a different course. If we have another lockdown Cécile will do online courses via zoom. We can also recommend these having done her gin and tonic one a few months ago.

We attended the Sauvignon Blanc online wine tasting and had a great time! We have attended a ‘normal’ port tasting prior to lockdown and thoroughly enjoyed it so we were pleased there was an online option in these unusual times.
It was the perfect mix of informative and fun, Cecile is hilarious and really kept our interest piqued with her great delivery and wealth of knowledge. Can’t recommend enough, we have already booked for the next tasting!

This is our third online wine tasting session with the Hampshire Wine School and before the first one we were a little apprehensive about how it would all work. We needn't have worried because it's been a huge success. Yet another great evening spent in the comfort of our own home tasting some delicious wines. This weeks selections were Chenin Blanc a firm favourite and Pinotage which I found out on the night was made from Pinot Noir and Hermitage. This and all the other sessions Cecile has run have been so much fun and really interesting. Would highly recommend to anyone with the slightest interest in wine. Sessions are only £10 per household + the cost of the wine an absolute bargain in my opinion. Sessions currently run on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, due to last an hour, but because Cecile has a great fun way of explaining everything it tends to last nearly 2hours, but because it's so interesting and fun you don't notice the time. Why not give it a try and say hi.

Brilliant online tasting of English sparkling wines, with meet the producer (All Angels) and the retailer (Hawkins bros). Quite different from Cecile’s usual virtual tasting, she did a great job interviewing and keeping it interesting. Inspiring, we’ll definitely be drinking more English sparkling. Thanks Cecile, Mark and Simon

Our family have had a blast during lockdown whilst doing these on-line virtual tasting evenings. Cécile sends you recommendations of suitable wines/or gins to purchase prior to the session and then links up on Zoom for virtual tasting sessions. Next up is our session on learning to pair wines with cheese. We have several friends who also link in and for £10 per household (plus the cost of your wine) and snacks) we enjoy lecture, discussion, quiz questions and have a real laugh whilst also using our mobiles to communicate. Thank you Cécile, we have enjoyed virtual parties for several weeks now and you will be a happy memory of Lockdown mayhem!

I was given a gift voucher and chose Spanish wine and tapas. Delayed by Covid the event finally happened on the 9th October this year at a venue in Southampton. My husband and I attended the event which was very well presented and indeed lots of fun. We expected a selection of white and red wine but on arrival there were 4 glasses already containing red wine and one with nothing. I approached the presenter, Cecile, and asked if perhaps I could have some more white because I cannot drink red wine as it makes me ill. She said that was not possible it was 4 reds and 1 white adding that Spain is all about Rioja and that is why it was predominately red. I think it should have been noted on the advertised event that it was mostly red and just one white wine to taste and I would have chosen a different event. The voucher also included a bottle of wine but Cecile told us that she had none so gave us some 'wine savers' instead. In the end I got to enjoy one small drink of white wine and left without the bottle of wine which was clearly stated on the voucher. Rather disappointed as my gift voucher gave me so little in the end. I would point out that I was not the only person present who didn't drink red wine. After more than 30 years visiting Spain enjoying wine and tapas there are some nice whites so in my opinion it was reasonable to expect more than one white wine tasting.

I attended Cecile's Virtual Beginners Wine Tasting class and I had an amazing time. Her passion and knowledge for wine is so inspiring and makes you want to learn everything. Ceclie does an amazing job an engaging her audience and allows you to ask questions without feeling stupid which is a brilliant trait to have. She brings so much joy!
I'd definitely recommend her classes for the beginners, experienced and every taster in-between!

We’d previously done a Zoom wine tasting with Cecile in July 2021 that we thoroughly enjoyed, so booked a face-to-face event with her. Cecile is knowledgeable, lively and fun to have as a wine instructor with great personality. On this course she found some very unusual wines for us to taste, that were all enjoyable to try. She pitched the course perfectly allowing for us less experienced wine appreciators to feel comfortable - no wine snobbery here! A very entertaining/participative 2 hours. We’re looking forward to booking another of her courses once we find spaces on her wide repertoire of tastings.

Been to a few of Cecile's online tastings and boy was I surprised how much I learnt. They're super fun and Cecile makes sure they're kept upbeat and now choosing a wine has become a lot easier, certainly when it comes to a Sauvignon Blanc or Spanish wines, looking forward to going to more so I've got a better understanding about English sparkling wines. Easily the best value tenner I've spent recently

Cecile was a brilliant lively informative guide through some of the best of French wines. I took my 2 grown up kids and their partners and they engaged immediately with the subject and fell in love with the wine it’s history and how and where it’s made. I think we will be back for more.

The tastings are usually 7pm to 9pm. They run at various venues in Southampton and Winchester. You do need to book. If you check the website there is a list of tastings and availability.
