Absolutely fabulous little gem of a house. A must visit for adults and children a like. We were lucky to have the volunteer explain to us in great detail about the history of both Hereford and the house. The people who have refurbished the house have done an excellent job. Most of the furniture and artifacts are contemporary to when the building was built. Wondering around a 17th C house with all it's furnishings is your best chance to imagining what life was luck for some people in 17th C England.
Don't miss it.

Visited the museum when stopping over at Hereford & it was stunning and the interior was very well maintained. There was information about the history of the house as well as significance of objects around it and the practices of the time. Some information was a bit repetitive so would have been more engaging if more organised. You are free to roam around the building and take pictures. Thankfully it wasn't too busy when we were there so managed to avoid being in close proximity to others. Entrance fee was £3 per person. Recommended visit when in Hereford - it's hard to miss such a striking building in the centre of town!

Distinctive black and white half-timbered house in High Town in the middle of Hereford. Now a small but fascinating museum. Well worth a visit.

Small, but really interesting museum in the heart of Hereford that won't take much more than 40 minutes of your time, but is definitely worth a visit.

The house is a beautiful example of another time and is wonderfully maintained, providing a real insight into how the middle class lived in the 16th and 17th centuries. Lots of information, great exhibits and a nice little shop.

Thoroughly recommended.

This is a small, but delightful museum. It gives an informative insight into the life of 16th and 17th Century Hereford. It goes beyond the normally recounted information.

This is step back in time and full of yesteryear you can see how the lived and how they slept with all of the family and it is certainly an opportunity to step back in time.

This was a gem of a museum, a very rare survivor in the centre of Hereford, and beautifully dressed and presented as if the original Jacobean inhabitants had just left.
The young man on the entry desk was lovely - and a fount of information about both the house and it's place in the history of Hereford.
They should be charging more than the paltry £3.00 entry fee!

Definitely worth the £3 entry fee for a glimpse into Jacobean life. The house is full of information about life in the 1600s and on the two upper floors is set out how it would have been then, which is fascinating. We spent around half an hour in there, but you could spend much longer.

The building is well restored to show what life would be like back in 1600, with similar items to see. It was very interesting, worth the £3 entry fee.

A fascinating glimpse into life in an earlier age. Amazing survival of original panelling and ceilings. Very informative displays, but not too heavy going. Well worth a visit.
